I am about to the first oil change myself on my 2019 Z-06.
I've done plenty of oil changes on my C5 Z-06 and C6 Z-06.
My question is about the oil filter. I see that Mobil offers a M1114A with a 25 psi oil bypass valve.
I have read some discussions that standard oil filters by-pass is 12-18 psi.
If I understand correctly a lower bypass pressure means the oil is bypassing the oil filter when the oil pressure hitting the filter exceeds the bypass psi. Thus a higher bypass pressure is desired.
Do I have this correct?
I have used AC Delco, Wix, Napa Gold/Platinum on other cars.
What should I use on the C7 Z-06?
The correct bypass pressure setting is 22 psi which is included with the Delco PF64. I prefer to use the premium WIX WL10290XP which I have been using since new for my 2019 Z06 LT4. It has been researched and reported to also have a 22 psi setting. I do not know of any other filters with the 22 psi setting. Many are only in the 15 to 18 psi range.
I've just stuck with the PF 64 for several years now. I continue to use them in both of my Vettes. My ZR1 is all stock and my Z06 has a custom LME stroker engine in it. I wouldn't use the PF 64's if I didn't have quite a bit of confidence in them.
