yep. E gine has been in a while now, wad waiting on a 30 dollar gasket that apparently is nowhere in existence or being made but i tjink i found thid gasket included in another part used on hummers and Isuzu. Dropped it off today.
How did the gasket from the kit you found work out Mark?
stopped by there yesterday and I believe it was the correct one. Car was back outside again. Bill said as soon as they finish with another vehicle they brought in, going back in to finish. Bill said he will have AMT engine rebuilders come over and fire it up. "4 hours away from completion" is what Bill said a month or so ago. 🤣. Waiting to get a call back from GM about my case. According to the notes in their file, "Heavily modifued" 🤣🤣🤣Yes. First by Callaway. Elco telling me that voids the warranty! Blatantly false. And of course now it is even more modified bc the engine needed rebuilding due to a failed DOD lifter (a known issue). Plus a fsiled Callaway gadket causing coolant to get into the engine/oil. That was back in April of 2020. 1.month past the 5yr warranty .
that old thread was locked down in December due to too many funny jokes about how this car will never be done.
And here we are coming up on Easter and it's BACK OUTSIDE.
I think one of the old posts was about Easter playing a part in the saga also
turned out to be accurate

Yep, I had mentioned either St. Nick or the Easter Bunny.... Odds on the rabbit....
I think Memorial Day would be more realistic at this point
when May comes we can re-evaluate and consider bumping to Labor Day, which I think is likely
Fair point, given track record or the finger pointing and lack of any material activity. BTW, for clarification, are we talking about 2024 being done, or looking at 2025 options now?

When we get the next update a few months from now it will probably be safe to decide if we're looking at 24 or 25 for completion
(I'm still wondering how the TV install went)
Sounds like a good ole standoff. GM isn't liable for the repair but the owner doesn't want to be liable for any repairs or costs and decided he just wouldn't pick up the car. So the dealer said ok fine it will sit outside in elements forever. Owner finally ponied up some cash to get the ball rolling forward after GM refused to move forward. And now a tiny little gasket has halted the entire process for over a month? OP doesn't actually want his car back.

It has proven an effective tactic you must admit.
I'm sure a few GM execs lost their jobs over the Z06 on blocks for 3 years incident.
….Memorial Day is coming up quickly. Let’s remember this fallen car, for the good times.
bad news
Mark just PM'd me.
He said the gasket came in, and they were about to install it, but the fuzzy dice to hang on his rear view mirror are backordered so they didn't want to bring the
car back in until those arrive.
Tracking shows them arriving the week before Memorial Day so fingers crossed.
