It’s not absolutely required. It’s like saying you need an alignment because you have a fat passenger vs no passenger. Call will lower about 1/4” per person inthe rear and 1/8” in the front…

I would. Also remember if the shop doesn't have the rear caster tool they can't align your car. I would ask any shop you want an alignment from if they have the tool and if they don't know what the tool is don't take your car to them. Multiple dealerships around me didn't even know about it.
