The NEW ZR1 will not have front fender spats but why all the hate on the Z06 and GS front fender spats I like mine . They match the stage 1 chin front spoiler perfectly!

plastic trinkets on an expensive car. It's not that complicated to see why they aren't well received.

I think they look OK on my GS, I've wondered as well why many seem to hate the looks of them.

Simply stated, IMO, they look like a cheap add on/after thought to an otherwise well designed and gorgeous looking car.

They are ugly and cheap looking. Finally GM designed the proper fender instead of an add on.

I don't hate mine, however I believe the spats added to the front fenders on the wide body GS and Z06 were an economical (cheap) way to accommodate the larger width wheels and tires on these models. In other words, the spats were an after thought! I think they (GM) should have made the fenders wider without the spats with the introduction of the 2015 Z06.

Yea, but unfortunately folks will have to shell out the big/ZR1 money to get them.

I have a '17 GS, and I'm a big fan. HOWEVER, I purchased a pair of spats along with a splitter painted in Carbon Flash and will replace them soon. I think it will look great.

This. They look like an afterthought that, instead of doing what should have been done, was done as cheap as possible.

I think people make a big deal out of nothing. I dont even notice them on the car. Too much waxing and not enough driving.

Spats in the front like the 911 has or even my ZL1 has are fine. These are fender flares and are not needed.

Got a hand it to GM on this one.
They’re the only company with brass big enough to slap a $.98 piece of plastic on a $90,000 plus car, and say “there, it’s fixed”. Then when questioned about it; tell people they’re aerodynamic.

Dave - I am with you. Spats look great. They add the extra black accents to complement what ever color the car is.

Default Fender spats

Personally I really like the wide body look, but frankly they look like a cheap add on to a premier sports car, such as ours.
I don't think they'll pass the test time as far as a design enhancement either, and will probably look silly in few years. Sorry to sound negative, but since you asked.

Jeep should sue GM since they stole the idea of add-on black plastic fender flares from Jeep.

The spats aren't bad but do create a visual that distracts from the shape.

Of course the c7 is a very strong design that pulls the eye in many directions.

I like the c7 z06 styling and I like the new zr1 although the wings are a bit over the top for most street driving...

This car is screaming.....

Still it's so dam fast..such a great track performer I would suggest the screaming might be appropriate,

But you asked the question...and basically the spats are a little less than harmonious or fluid in design....

It's basically another . .styling feature that really a person looking would notice...

And it's a unique thing to notice on the styling of a new sports car...

The widening of the front wheel well with a plastic extension..

Hope that helps explain and like I said...the z06 and grand sport are stunning sports cars
