ZR1 is a disappointment
I really do feel like Chevy dropped the ball with this car. I comend them greatly for what they have done but Jesus it’s not a new car by any means. The lt5 “stupid name since it’s not unique or DOHC” is just a better lt4 lol. And the rest of the car is either a carry over or is just an extreme version of the z06 and where da **** is the 10r80. Even though ford is being an old man and not doing jack **** with the 18 Mustang. They took a major risk with the voodoo engine and that’s what I want Chevy to do. Take a risk and make something special not a hot rod version of another trim

Perhaps you're familiar with the C6 ZR1? That wasn't a 'new car' either, but still managed to be one of the best Corvettes ever.
I think the C7 ZR1 will do just fine.
Oh and BTW, GM has told us over and over the A10 won't package into the C7. Only fools are STILL angered when it doesn't show up, just GM said it wouldn't.

I agree with the disappointment part ....
Gm I am your market demographic I track my car 6-8 times a year I purchased my c7 new.
I would be interested in the zr1 if it was about the same cost as a z06
but for 120+ k it just isn’t doing it for me I would rather spend it on the c8 hopefully they really wow me what that one like they did with the c7

I for one am not disappointed at all. It has more power than I was expecting it to have, even though it gets it from an engine that is basically what the LT4 should of been, and they made it more enjoyable to drive at the limit (according to them). One of the things I heard people complaining about is the Z06's ability to put the power down. If this car is more predictable and controllable at the limit, it could very well be the best Corvette ever, just with a few revisions.
Maybe if enough people are disappointed with them, they'll sit on the lots long enough for me to be able to afford one lol.

Probably one of the many here who are pissed their 2014 Stingray isn't top dog anymore -
denied the existence of the forthcoming Z06 and then trashed it upon arrival;
denied the existence of the forthcoming GS and then trashed it upon arrival;
denied the existence of the forthcoming ZR1 and then trashed it upon arrival;
denies the existence of the forthcoming C8 ME ("it's a Cadillac!") and will trash it upon arrival.
Nothing like playing into the "old man in Hawaiian shirt, white socks and sandals yelling at kids to stay off his lawn' Corvette owner stereotype!

Well, IMO the ZR1 is exactly what it is supposed to be, the best bang for the buck in the supercar world. The C6 ZR1 was also in that category. How many production sport cars with a 755hp engine can you find under $150,000 ?And the if you want Chevy to take even more risks, they will with the C8.
What do you drive Steven ?(do you have a car?)

Actually, much of the Stingray pushback came from C6 owners.
Let's face it, the entire C7 generation, with all it's variants, has brought out more TROLLS than anything I've ever seen. And many (like the OP) don't OWN a C7, or ANY Corvette for that matter.
