Corvette ZR1 Convertible: This Is What It’ll Look Like
The king of the hill will get an open-top variant that will help drivers enjoy sunny weather while being able to embarrass supercars.

Two things:
The convertible will NOT have the tall wing.
The convertible will NOT have the rear brake vents in the convertible fascia.
PS. And before someone says it: They are making a convertible ZR1 because they can, just like Ferrari always makes convertible versions of the "special" 8 cylinder mid-engine cars (Challenge Stradale, etc...). GM (like Ferrari) is in the car SALES business.
EDIT: I am wrong on the high wing. There is a photo of a high wing convertible

Looks like Laguna Blue....was my favorite Corvette color! I would like it better yet with the lower wing spoiler.
Good eye.....true.....convertibles have no vents because of the folding top hardware.

A zr1 convertible is completely pointless and sacrilege on a number of levels yet I dig it. I daily drive my ZR1 even thought it's overkill for a daily driver... because America and because I can. I've driven convertibles or open top vehicles since 2002 so I miss that when driving my ZR1. I had a C6 targa at one point but the buffeting on the freeway was annoying. A true convertible is way smoother at speed. A convertible ZR1 in all of it's ostentatiousness and futility is pointless and overkill, but still a proper way to say: America, **** yeah!

I had only seen ZR1 convertibles with the low wing and thought I had heard Tadge confirm low wing only on the convertible. In another thread, there is a picture of a convertible with the high wing. See below thread, post #131 has a high wing convertible.

This needs an active rear wing even more than the coupe. Convertibles, for those of us with a bit of hair, get uncomfortable at speed (my scalp tends to be numb after a ride in the c6 with the top down at speeds as low as 50mph and if I'm not careful my hair will turn itself into a whip and try to destroy my eyeballs). And at lower speeds big wings tend to look a bit silly, especially on a convertible with the top down. Hope there's an active wing/spoiler planned 😊

GM knows that there will be a number of buyers to pay for tooling to make it profitable. I do wish it would have the roll-over protection like some of the other sport cars have.https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ies/woohoo.gif
