The ZR1 will be the same way esp in a convertible with huge wing they won't sell many. Neither car is a factor enough to complain or worry about.

Safety Car
Saw one at the club last year. As a coupe and a mostly track car it was not to hideous. The ZR1 Convertible is simply a car too far. This car pictured makes me wonder how he got his golf clubs in the boot? Notice this wing is adjustable. I have seen other V ACRs that were not. Will the ZR1 big wing be adjustable?

ZR1 has 5 deg of adjustment as I recall.

I'm sure many owners will just add them back though because they look cool. And while I'm sure some will disagree, looks are really the only reason to get ZTK on a vert.

In one of interviews with Tadge at the launch he mentioned that a vert ZTK would not get the end caps. Apparently the convertible, even with the top up, does not flow air as efficiently to the rear wing. Because of this, in testing, they found the end caps unbalanced the car by providing too much downforce up front. Because of this, they left them off the vert.

Safety Car
The ZR1 is meant to tracked, but we all know there will be people buying this car and driving it on the streets. It is inevitable that driving on the highway and getting a tire or other debris thrown up into the front grill would totally destroy the front grill (and puncture the radiator). Don't even think about love bug season in Florida..good luck with that. I agree, the bench wing and the front fender grill was overdone.

Could be a couple reasons I can think of:
- Test cars have been pieced together somewhat randomly to test individual parts. I've also seen plenty of ZTK coupes without the end caps and cars without the carbon roof which is a standard item.
- GM knows people will add them anyway so they want to road test to ensure they won't cause any major issues if added by owners

That wing is hands down the dumbest thing on the convertible. Are the convertible guys really tracking this? NO.
Except for txoutdoors that is ;-)

How many ZR1 coupes do you think are going to actually see a track???
I'll tell you....NOT many.
GM is in the car SALES business, not the "we'll protect people from themselves" business. If someone wants a big wing on a ZR1 convertible, GM will (and SHOULD) take their money. I wouldn't do it, but it ain't my car.

[QUOTE=zhopper05;1596452551]Saw it this afternoon in the parking lot at the plant in Bowling Green.
Holy front fender to bumper cover seam gap. That is a big gap! No one noticed?

Pilot car, destined for the crusher in the not to distant future. Not a customer car. No telling what that car's been through.
The panel gap you're seeing is why very few pilot cars are loaned out to car mags anymore. Every time some magazine got one, they would inevitably make a comment about a panel gap or something else. Kind of like letting wine writers review barrel samples, which doesn't happen near as much as it used to for the same reason. If you're not driving/tasting FINISHED product, you shouldn't comment about it.
