ZR1 transport to Dealership-Open Transport now?
A few of us have the same question---No more enclosed transport for the Wonder Beast? C6s were shipped enclosed, in fact GM commanded the Dealerships at one point to keep them inside in a special designated ZR1 room. With all that carbon fiber they are arriving on the open transport???

I had a a new $95,000 CTS-V arrive from plant via open carrier and no cover, all salt and snow sprayed from the trip. My dealer was surprised it did not get covered at a minimum. So I guess we're lucky we're getting the Z's covered at least.

No, a cheap cover is not at all the same in an open carrier for thousands of miles. No car I own gets transported that way, why should a $150K super car?

Some people just crack me up... never happy unless they got something to complain about, and if necessary they’ll just make a reason.
Unless you’re planning to put you car into a humedically controlled showroom, never to be driven, what’s the big deal? It’s a car... it’s intended to be driven... exposed to bugs and dirt and road grime and stone chips and (god forbid ) rain or even snow and ice.
Sorry to break the news but it’s an expensive Chev... an expensive GM product... but it’s not priced in the SUPERCAR category.
If you want you ZR1 delivered in an enclosed transport then option the museum delivery and arrange your own transport... problem solved.

What??? After seeing 4 years of Z06's delivered in bags How could they? I'm so offended they are not being delivered in an enclosed trailer.
I'm not buying one! Oh that's right, I wasn't getting one anyway.

Here, now you can see a brand new ZR1 arriving by transport:

By the way, it's open transport with a traditional Corvette wrap.

As I said in the other thread, Porsches are delivered the exact same way.
When I worked at Maserati, those cars were also delivered in giant bags. Same with Audi.
GM learned their lesson. Might as well use economies of scale. Reach out to suppliers, have them bid on a contract for 50,000 delivery bags at a negotiated price. Boom.

Based on some of the replies So glad I didn't tell my new Corvette purchasing Friends to ask in the Forum
The point was GM made such a BIG deal when the C6ZR came out, what changed? Maybe my next post can be about Dealerships that leave the Supercar outside on display.......
My transport company ships high end cars all the time not enclosed but I opt for enclosed. Only the best for my Waxrrr
