I saw in a new video post on youtube that a new ZR-1 owner got what appears to be several build sheets with his car. My dealer did not give me any and perhaps none were in my car or they were discarded. Just curious if anyone else got these items. The video link I saw this in is below and is mentioned at time stamp 1:58
The 'build sheet' you get from the museum isn't anything like the sheets that go down the line with the car. I was actually pretty disappointed with mine.
not that it'll make you feel better OP but, the old "build sheets" you may be used to watching restoration shows or auctions etc, were important because there were no records ANYWHERE for the cars. so, without the build sheets, usually buried under backseats or carpet etc, were like "easter eggs".
and unless the world collapses and the internet shuts down etc, anyone can grab whatever information they want about a vin number and the rpo codes that coincide with it even though thy aren't technically attached. all because of databases and computers. the build sheet means nothing in a mass produced automobile today.
now, should there be a mistake? say cf mirrors on sheet but not installed on the car? that's like an error in a comic book, but until everything goes electric and maybe start to levitate, even that isn't worth the paper it's printed on lol.
ps. i have mine, was put aside with all sheets from inside the car, that's the benefit of dealing with a guy like Mike Furman or another knowledgeable sales specialist.
