First oil change
I am picking up my car at the dealer soon and have about a 750 mile drive home. Is it a big deal if i do the first oil change at around 800 miles instead of 500?

That will be fine, absolutely nothing to worry about.
Enjoy the drive...perfect way to break-in a new toy!

Wow that is a good question. My understanding is that GM is recommending an oil change at 500-miles and is not mandatory.

Completely agree. The 500 mile oil change assumes many short trips, you'll be doing it in 1-2 days max from what it sounds like. I don't wanna say "you'll be fine" because in all honesty what you're doing is probably marginally better for the car for break-in.

I had an 1100 mile drive back. Got it changed after my return. No big deal. Call your dealer ahead of time and ensure that they have the oil to do it. Mine had to order it.

For those facing over 500 miles on a trip home if the Zr1 offers 2 oils changes like the zo6 did, they are honorable at any Chevrolet dealer. Worth looking into that option on your route.

OP: just get it changed as soon as you can.
