By now I'm sure you, like me, have read all the other reviews and first drives. This one has a few more tidbits of technical detail.

Default Don't feel bad!

Pobst found himself drifting in the 488 GTB thinking it was incorporated by the car.
Bigger power cars need management more and more.

They keep talking about how it has 4 more coolers than the Z06. Twelve Vs 8. I am having trouble counting coolers on my car and I think the marketing people are doing a double count.

My count shows: 1)the main radiator, 2)the secondary radiator for M7 or front transmission cooler for the A8, 3) engine oil cooler, 4) AC Condenser 5) Charge cooling radiator, 6) Left rear quarter transmission cooler, 7) right rear quarter differential cooler, 8) left side supercharger charge cooling brick, 9) right side supercharger charge cooling brick for a total of 9 coolers on the Z06. Of course the charge cooling bricks and the charge cooling radiator are just different parts of one system as are the engine oil cooler and the main radiator in the case of the A8 plus the secondary radiator in case of the M7. The question is how are they doing the count and what are the 4 so called added coolers?

“Chevy also points out that the LT5’s blower spins at a maximum 15,860 rpm (about 5,000 rpm slower than the LT4’s)”

this alone just screams untapped potential.

The ZR1 adds:

- Two auxiliary radiators
- Two heat exchangers

They are packaged together on each side. I had a picture at one point. Will look for it...

EDIT:

Found it.

I wonder what the difference between an aux low temp and primary radiator is?

Low temp are the S/C heat exchangers. Primary is for engine cooling. The manual Z06's have an aux primary radiator.

Very impressive setup IMO.
