772HP is no coincidence? ZR1 vs GT500
Anyone else notice that the 755HP ZR1 fitted with the 17HP upgrade RVK air box equals 772HP, which is the exact same number in the 2019 Ford GT500 Easter egg showing the GT500's instrument cluster in 7th gear at 72mph, which everyone believes is a hint that the horsepower will be 772 in the GT500.
Not a coincidence, I'm guessing.... Gotta love the behind the scene work in the advertising...

I don't think Chevy cares about any Mustang relative to Corvette or lets them drive any decision they make. Now the Camaro is another story.

Scraping the splitter.
Many in the Hellcat community thought the Demon was going to have 1049 horsepower and used the Easter-Egg-justification in doing so.

Ford just disappoints. It has downsized the car and the engine. The 2014 GT500 was the last big engine car. No telling WHEN Ford will come out with a new GT500. I like convertibles and the convertible might follow WAY behind the sedan. Other cars have one button tops which the Mustang requires you to release the hood latches. I kept hoping for a twin turbo engine. My current 2011 GT500 was upgraded with a Ford Racing performance part supercharger supposedly taking the car to 750 HP. Now that I have a ZR1 on order I'll sell off my GT500 and my Z06 to pay for the new car. I was going to wait for the new GT500 but gave up waiting and my friend said the Ford dealers he has talked to plan to add on $30,000 as an Adjusted Market Price or Additional Dealer Mark-up. So, so much for that.

The new GT500 will compete in the corvette market share, whether or not any corvette owners believe it actually competes or not. Ford stated it will have more than 700HP, so thats a big number in the marketplace. The current GT350 is a great car, at its price point. While I don't think the new (whenever it comes out) GT500 at $80-90K will compete with the ZR1 overall, it looks as though Ford is shooting for the demon 1/4 times and the ZL1/1LE and Z06... The GT350 competes in the market share for Stingrays, GS, Hellcats, ZL1s, etc. The GT500 will certainly have a strong market share when it is released, and be a direct competitor for the Demon/Hellcat and Z06. I'm pretty sure the 772 number is not a coincidence.

That 772 was put out back in I believe January. The GT500 has been aligning itself with being a Demon killer and really hasn't even thought about the vette. Ford's Performance marketing manager Jim Owens was quoted as saying "Venom kill demons". A clear sign that this is who the GT500 is gunning for and/or the Camaro. The Corvette is not even on their radar.

Dumb enough? The Demon has not been all it was hyped to be in stock form. The ZR1, which is not built for a drag strip, already beats the Demon in the 1/4 mile. Ford should have no trouble taking the Demon down especially if offered in a 8-10 speed auto or dct.

Also I'm not sure how some can draw a conclusion that it's a coincidence when Ford put out those easter egg numbers back in like January..ZR1 numbers didn't come out until last month. Not to mention this CAI just came out and now bumps it up to 772. That means Ford would have had to of known about the ZR1s numbers way back then and that they would come out with a CAI that would bump it up to 772. Additionally, Fords Easter egg the GT350 was off..so I'm sure the 772 number will be different once the GT500 comes to production.

What about that 830 HP Setup!

This is absolutely factually incorrect. The fastest ZR1 time is still a couple of tenths slower than the Demon time.
