Sebring Orange ain't no DSOM!
Finally had the opportunity to look at a new ZR1 in person at a local dealer and I must say that "for me", Sebring Orange is a HUGE disappointment I am not saying this to start a peeing contest like black versus chrome wheels and to all those who have ordered the most popular 2019 color for the ZR1, I am seriously happy for you, I mean it.
I had a DSOM 2015 Z06 and the pictures of DSOM were sketchy at best when I ordered the car in September 2014 and I never had a chance to see it in person so I had my fingers crossed that I didn't make a mistake and when I finally took delivery of the car I couldn't have be happier! On the other hand, if I had ordered a new ZR1 Sebring Orange (SO) without seeing it first I couldn't believe how disappointed that I would be
"For me" new colors are supposed to obsolete the "old colors".....SO just doesn't float my boat....it's just orange and again, if orange is your thing GREAT

If we all liked the same color, we would all drive the same color of cars. Imagine that!

I really liked the early released SO pics (1st pic below). Appears to be photoshop enhanced with a ting of red.
SO as viewed in person (2nd pic below) has more of a bright "Sunkist navel orange" appearance.
I was able to view several SO Z's at the NCM just before the bash. SO has different personalities under varied lighting conditions and is drop dead gorgeous inside the building under the lights and out in the sun and the clouds. Congrats to all SO owners and those planning on placing your SO order.
For me, I would have preferred SO to have a hint of red undertone, darkening the color just a bit.
IMHO, the Z looks great in every color. A testament to the GM design team... for the first time in many years, I had such a difficult time choosing a color. I ended up going with black and will be taking NCM delivery on 5/17.
For what it is worth, David Smith whom heads the PDI detail team at the NCM shared with me as of April 19th, 75% of all Z's coming through the NCM are SO. Tells a strong story, early production suggests SO is hitting the mark with the populous of the Corvette community.

SO looks great against the black metallic aka carbon flash (and/or any exposed carbon) accents.
needs the contrast to not be a "clown car". seriously considering one for my next Z06.

I’m just glad GM has released some bolder colors. We went through a stretch where I thought they had way too many dark colors and not enough bold colors. It’s a sports car.

I’ll reserve judgment until I actually see the Orange in life. Seen a few ZR1’s but not in orange. I like it ok in pics, but I would never order one as it seems to be the most ordered color on almost every dilervery so far from what I have seen on here anyway, so I would lean to something a little different myself.

Agree, I had one on order based on your first picture being an accurate representation of the new color. When I was sent a pic from the showroom floor I quickly canceled. Avoided a disappointment for ME. Happy that there are those that like it, its just not for me.

I disagree with the OP. I was at the local C&C yesterday and there was a ZR1 there. The orange really pops and looks great on this car. Here are some pics.
A few more.
A few more.

Hey, it's anyone's opinion and many are on your side based on the demand....I would like to see a side-by-side shot to really see the difference because DSOM in bright light is not really washed out, it pops like nobody's business IMHO, peace

I've wanted an orange vette for a long time and I've never really liked the darker burnt orange variants. I am very happy to finally see a bright vibrant color.

Ive not seen this color in person either and I'd love to see it. It must be a hard color to show in a picture like night race blue but BLKTAs pics in post 12 are some of the best I've seen.

Regardless of what you may think of the color, there's no denying that the quality of the paint is much improved. GM did a good job with their new paint booth and procedures. That finish is smmooooth.
