Why only slow releasing allocations??
What’s the point of releasing allocations in dribs and drabs with even the biggest of dealers? Seems to me Chevy should fish when the fish are biting...the waiting is killing me...(I know first world problems)...

Maybe the suppliers need time to fabricate the new parts.

I guess...but I’m sure like many who want this car if I don’t get it so I’ll have one by at least Sept...I might as well wait...until the Mid Engine or until there is a glut of ZR1’s on dealer lots all winter...

The top three dealers have a list of buyers...run down the list, see who’s really buying and get moving...

But they can't. That's just the thing. The CF wings take too long to build. The tooling for them isn't something GM can just buy off the shelf. It's a slow process: 42/week at most and no more than that. Period. Full stop. End of story.

I don’t know if that is the reason...first of all not all will be built with the ZTK Package and it’s not like they are saying “If you don’t want the ZTK wing your car will arrive quicker”

What does that mean for replacement parts should damage occur to any of the CF parts

If I'm not an owner by August for Carlisle, I don't want it till May or June 2019. Maybe even below msrp by then.

Corvette fan
I was a first adopter for both 14 Stingray and 15 Z06. Paid sticker for both and was OK with that. Both came from the #1 Corvette dealer.
When I ordered the Z06 I had already sold the Stingray to a different dealer than I ordered the car from. The Z06 was courtesy delivered to this different dealer. They brought it to my place in a covered trailer on Dec 19 2014, and it immediately went into a garage til spring.
I have since picked up a 2013 ZR1.
All of this confusion and shortage regarding ZR1 makes me not the slightest bit interested in getting one. My thought originally was trading both cars on a new ZR1, but not in this environment. The dealer who bought my Stingray originally offered me an allocation but then filled all 6 of his with orders that had nothing to trade. Can't blame him.
So now I am waiting. Maybe til things cool off and I can save a buck plus get some incremental improvements on ZR1, or maybe til the higher performance C8 models start rolling out.
This is just my opinion and where I am at. I can imagine those who are getting a ZR1 now are super excited and feel they are doing what's best for them and happy to pay sticker. Me, I am just not feeling it.

To add insult to injury a friend of mine who I sent to my guy (one of the big three) got an allocation from a small local dealer and will be getting his car before me....UGH

So wing theft is going to be a problem? Damn it. Doesn't anyone make wing locks?
