ZR1 vs Huracan - Dig and Roll! :0

A dyno tuner who worked on more than a few Corvettes in our area told me the 650HP C7 Z06 was not so formidable in stock form but with some bolt ons, headers and a good tune made some really big power, some in the 750FWHP range. I imagine the same may someday be said about the new ZR1....which is already very fast...but with some bolt ons, headers and a good tune ??? Wow.

Just a little off base! The Zr1 is 125k in 1lz and the 2019 Z06 1lz sits at 82,500 but can be purchased at several dealers for 73k So the price is more like 40-50 k less, not counting more tax on the ZR1
Most Z06 owners prefer the Z06 look by a wide margin. I have only seen a couple threads of TALK and seriously is a joke to add a ZR1 front on a Z06. Sought after HAHA! More Z06 owners dislike the ZR1 front end and wing than do.

The ZR1 was designed and marketed for this! ;)
Have you seen this thread? Looks like a fair amount of interest in less than 24hrs... I get it though, some Z06 owners are a little upset cuz theres a new, bigger, badder kid on the block. I probably would be too, thats why I cancelled my Z06 order after the ZR1 unveiling. Glad I did

A buyer is spending 30k for the presence, the design, the sound, the aero and the track capability. If all you care about it roll racing or the drag strip, then buy a base Stingray and put a supercharger on it and save yourself even more money. Jalopnik writers are just that...writers, blabber mouths...saying you pay 30k for a foot of breaking distance just pours ignorance.

not quite, i personally have absolutely 0 interest in buying or trading up to a ZR1. I did it from the C7 Stingray to the Z06 and it was worth it. Next trade would be the C8 if it's as revolutionary as I think it could be.

At this point after watching all these videos, that guy definitely doesn't know how to drive. He's paddle shifting for one lol when he should leave it in Drive and hes using launch control which sucks on Vettes. Not to mention that it seems like he ran the car all day..with back to back races.

Both of my C7 Z06's had sticker's in the $110K range and I can definitely see why the ZR is $30K more. I guess if you don't own one, you couldn't possibly understand.

it's weight, trans delays, doesn't plant the power to ground and aero are its biggest challenges. Facts.

I'll take that bet... the Huracan is stock. the 720S is stock as well, it came with the regular exhaust, the optional OEM sport version of the exhaust was swapped from another 720S...
I would bet the Huracan is not stock. The ame guy has the Mac 720 and it is not stock it has the sport exhaust which is like a full header on our cars..
The ZR1 needs the DCS controller to get some traction off the line and the roll was close but the ZR1 driver also has marginal shifting.. My Z06 would have no problem with either on the roll.

Ok, so when the Lambo gets on a twisty track with a ZR1 and the Z blows it away then many of the Hurican fans will say the Lambo's a POS, can't even beat a mass production GM product that's half (or at least a great deal less expensive) the price of the Lambo. If there are excuses to be made they should be directed at the Lambo. For the price of the friggin thing, it should be able to beat the Corvette in all parameters, race track, quarter mile, etc. not just a straight line, which the ZR1 is not made exclusively for, it's a track car. These videos are interesting because they show two super powerful cars going head to head, albeit in one dimension, in a straight line race, and the Lambo is undoubtedly impressive in that regard, but please, it's only one facet of a cars overall performance. The Vette is clearly the more impressive car in it's good, old fashioned American ingenuity and superb engineering. The technological achievement is much more impressive with the Vette when you narrow it down: GM has produced a mass production car, without the stratospheric price tag, that can beat many supercars in the arena for which it, and many other supercars, where designed for, the Race Track! Moreover, the Vette is easier and less costly to service and maintain, meaning, more wheel time on the track, cruising the boulevards or just plain driving for fun. To put it simply, GM has built a better product for far less money. I'm not here to beat on the Lambo, it's a really neat car and impressive, but please, let's look at the whole picture when judging a car's performance.

What I would like to see is a race between a Z and ZR1
