Im going to call Corsa and ask...

Is the X-pipe install just a simple unblolt/bolt project or is it a pain? Are there O2 sensors in the stock X-pipe and if so what do you do with them? It seems like every time I get involved in an exhaust project it turns in to a huge PITA.

However, if this is a relatively easy swap I'd be interested in trying a catless X-pipe just to try and keep temps down a bit under the car. I'd be willing to stress test if Corsa says they believe it's Z06 pipe will hold up and are willing to provide an X-pipe. I have no interest in changing the mufflers as the GM mufflers work great street and track.

- Thanks, that would be very welcome. Ask what the construction is: grade of stainless and wall thickness, type of bends and type of welds. Because if it is significantly overbuilt for the Z06 then it may be fine for the ZR1 even if it wasn't designed for it from the outset.

Haven’t called Corsa yet but this is a new development...they list the Z06 part # as being for the 2019 ZR1

A general question for those of you who have installed the X-pipes. Does the deletion of the secondary cats cause any type of emission fault codes on the exhaust?

No, just increased performance and sound.

1) Is the increase in sound irritating (bass resonance)? My Z4 has resonance issues due to its supercharger and exhaust mods and it is quite unpleasant to drive by most people's standards.
2) Is the sound increase still altered by the exhaust settings? IE: will stealth mode still be pretty quiet so as to not irritate the wife?

In response to number 2, I have to think that the exhaust settings are effectuated in the mufflers, so stealth mode should still be quiet. At least I hope so!

On my Z06 the sound is significantly improved and does not drone on in the least...

The different exhaust modes work as designed and change the sound etc with the different settings..

Very satisfied with mine and looking forward to putting it on the ZR1

That is odd because i was considering the Borla, only because the guys at Carlisle would install it because it retains the secondary CATS. I reached out to Borla with my concern from hearing your response and this is what i received back Friday - "There is not a heat issue. You are fine. Go ahead with the purchase and installation of that product. Thank you,

Wow, very interesting. I only wish I would've taken down the name of the guy I spoke to when calling Borla. It would be nice if Borla would clarify for us here on the forum. Hey Borla, is anybody listening??

A lot of overthinking the x-pipes going on here.

Is he saying by this Chart that with the Borla X pipe, he’s is at 610rwtrq with no other mods?
is that possible?

It's all about flow. If the 3" is better, the above dyno results killed that idea.
The LHT custom built mid pipe is 3", which made more power.

It sure doesn't look like the Borla X-pipe retains the secondary cats. I think the salesman was selling you Borla mufflers, not the X-pipe!
