The ZR1 is a flop

I am kinda in agreement with the OP on this one.
Does no one else see that the zr1 is a zo6 with the lg front bumper and the Callaway blower that they made you cut your hood for? When you think in those terms... 150k is a lot of money for a vette.
Not suprised it struggles at Laguna Seca. Very tight technical track. Seems the zr1 needs some long straights and high speed turns to flex its power and downforce.
Here is me passing a performante at Laguna Seca.

I'm arriving late to this party, but I bought my ZR1 specifically because of HOW it is a driver's car:
It's the last high performance front engine V8+manual+RWD car that will EVER be produced!
*mic drop*

Did I say how much I LOVE my ZR1?
The Z06 was amazing UNTIL I drove the Big Azz Wing.
Carry on. Your magazine reviews or costs analysis are so off point. The extras over the C6 ZR and C7Z well justify the price based on MSRPs.

What the ZR1 demonstrates is that the C7 is pretty much maxed out. The cornering, braking and acceleration are world class with one big exception, the ZR1 struggles to put its massive power to the ground. This is particularly an issue when exiting a slow speed corner. Baring a massive breakthrough in tire technology (or the use of racing tires) this problem is unlikely to be resolved. For the Corvette to continue to play with the high horsepower competition it needs to go to the all wheel drive and/or mid engine option. Pretty simple actually. C8 anyone?

I beg to differ that the ZR1 isn't a straight line car, this car flat out gets after it, if you know what you're doing.
Ran 0-60 mph in 2.40 seconds flat today which is faster than the Bugatti Chiron and ties the La Ferrari and Aventador SV.
I could have a different ZR1 for every working day of the month at 23 vs the Bugatti, 9 ZR1s vs the La Ferrari, and lasty 2 ZR1s and a Grand Sport for the bargain price of the Aventador SV compared to the rest! LOL
Also, today I reset the quarter mile records for quickest, fastest, and a shocking 60' time!
I cut a 1.44 in the 60'
111 mph in the eight at 6.4
9.92 in the quarter at 140.5 mph

I'm just not a fanboy. I think the GS is a great track car. But right now I think the ZL1 1LE is GM's best overall track car. the FI C7's have issues and aren't worth the money.
I knew posting here the fanbois would be butthurt. Cause that's what fanbois do. Totally expected.

I find some of the comments in this thread to be hysterical. Lol
Has the current C7 reached it's maximum "street" potential? No. Has it reached it's maximum track potential? Probably, yes, and Corvette Chief Engineer, Tadge Juechter has stated this a couple times to the automotive media.
There's a difference between street potential, race track potential and drag strip potential. 90% of the current ZR1 owners out there will NEVER reach the full performance capability of the ZR1 on the street.
Historically, the ZR1 was never meant to be a drag strip car, or an autocross car. It was meant to be a GT. A Grand touring automobile. This is something that I think the current ZR1 and past ZR1s have done quite well.
Some people in here think that in order to compete with the competition, GM needs to build a $320k car. Seriously? That's never been the Corvette's mantra, and take a look at all the people in the C8 forum with their panties in a bunch peering into their crystal ***** and assuming the C8 is going to start at $150k and how dare GM price a Corvette so high.
I can't help but wonder if GM reads threads like this, sits back, and laughs hysterically. Why? Because they're damned if they do and damned if they don't.
All the hyper critical whiny prisses out there are going to find something to bitch about, and like any company out there, they can't please everyone.
I own a 1990 ZR-1 with 375hp, completely stock, which in today's automotive world, is a complete joke. However, each time I get in that car, fire it up, and go for a cruise, it still puts a smile on my face. With a measly 375 hp, I can still get into plenty of trouble, but I can also still have plenty of fun driving. And that's what's important to me.
I could give two ***** what some magazine says about the car I drive. If I'm interested in a car, I'm going to go drive it, and if I like it, I'm going to buy it.
It's like listening to movie critics. If the movie looks good, I'll go see it, and theres been plenty of times I was pleasantly surprised, enjoyed it, and didn't listen to the "professional" critics.
When a magazine tests each of those cars in all of those different environments, with the same, unbiased driver behind the wheel, then maybe I'll start to pay a little more attention to what they say.
Until then, I'll just keep enjoying my 375hp and lusting after a new ZR1.

So all you haters, can you come up with an example? Or are you just going to call the ZR1 a "flop" because your magazine writing overlords told you its not as good as a Kia or Honda LOLOLOLOLOL. If you believe that garbage then go buy a Stinger or Type R and report back on how it kicks your Z06's A$$ since its so much better than the ZR1...we're waiting
