I was just finished the Stingray/Grand Sport/Z06 school yesterday. All of our ears perked up when the ZR1's were on track. They sound like race cars.

We took our firearms. They have a private range that you can use if you want to. SM does have many great opportunities, ie..massage appts and great food. They feed you lunch and breakfast. Dinner is on you. The local winery that has a restaurant is highly valued for their offerings. There should be enough there to keep her happy. Hoover dam isn't too far away. Some folks like to go see that while they are there.

If that class isn't " full " you should be able to add her with no problems. We staggered our classes 1 before SEMA and the other after SEMA. They let each spouse observe the class and ride in the instructors cars when going out on track. It's almost like getting to do it twice.

Drifting
I talked to the Ron Fellow folks today (got a call back from an email inquiry).
Nice lady told me that GM only allows 1 person in a class per ZR-1 purchase. Can't buy another slot, etc.
My wife has been thru the Z06 and CTS-V school so who knows. She may take another class or just hang out.
I am happy the General has the school - just wish my wife could do the school even if it is on my dime.
I guess the other option is to buy a pair of ZR1s....

Death valley is totally doable as a day trip out of Vegas and even easier out of Pahurmp. You get there via 372 (Nevada) to 178 (California) out of Pahrump. Take 178 all the way to Furnace Creek (or as far as you want to go). Then for the way back I took 190 out of Furnace creek to Death Valley junction. Then State line road back to Pahrump again. The scenery in Death Vally is amazing. It was 70F and sunny when I was there and very comfortable.
IMPORTANT: If you go to Death Valley make sure to fill up your gas tank up in Pahrump because there are no gas stations for long distances in Death Valley. Also the gas station I found in in Death Valley (to take a leak) is almost $4.00 a gallon. It might have been Furnace Creek that had a gas station. I had plenty of gas left over after getting back to Pahrump. Like 1/2 to 3/4 of a tank.

Advanced
Just got back from the 3/27 3/28 class. We did death valley out and back with enough time to catch an early dinner. Was amazing scenery and lots of straight roads. We stopped at the death valley inn for lunch which was excellent.
The ZR1 course was so much more than I ever expected. The trainers were so helpful and encouraging. I am just about ready to sign up for the level 1 course. After the first day it really started to come together. I felt like another day would be absolutely the best.

Vetteexec….Was there with you (27-28), not sure who you are...Every ZR1 owner SHOULD go. I had NEVER been on a track B4, and was extremely nervous the first day, but the second day (my birthday) seemed to come together. On the final session, had the best time, 1:49.58 in car 15, auto, even though I totally messed up everything after turn 6, which rattled me, ie. too slow through 6, wrong line through 7, throttle too long on the straight, shift to 6th instead of 4th at 8, realized it at 9, so down to 5th (duh) shld be 3rd, down to 4th b4 10, and carried that through the finish. My analysis is, I came into 6 faster than I had B4, and my concentration became keeping the car on the track and not 'driving'...I lost visualization of what was ahead from 6 on.
You have to hand it to the instructors, though, they are Top Drawer. To have the patience with an 81 yr old "TOTAL TENDERFOOT" and in 2 days be able to lap 3 seconds slower than the auto demo lap, that is quite an accomplishment on their part. That is a class to remember, and give me an itch to return. 2 MORE DAYS !!
