I was one of the believer of a 3 year C7 ZR1 run. I got that wrong, totally! What did I get right?
1. March was not the end of C7 ZR1 (I even started a thread on that)
2. Base price of C8 (I guess that is still not officially released)
3. Not waiting on the 2020 C7 ZR1 (even though I thought there will be one)
4. Ordering the 2019 C7 ZR1 (before the price increase - I even started a poll on that)
5. Choosing the Performance Intake option (while it was still available)
6. Getting the ZTK and 7-speed (the best part)
I admire GM's courage to believe in the ME C8 without the insurance of being able to fall back on the FE car.

I was a believer of a 3 year run as well. Happy to eat crow, seems expensive for one year.
Ok, my next prediction, next year, camaro gets the LT5!
I'll look forward to a twin turbo c8 in the future, and still looking forward to adding a ZR1 to the stable before end of year.
Best Regards,
Dave

There was never any doubt in my mind at all, the only thing that’s really different is they are going to make what appears to be a total of about 2,400 - 2,500 ZR1s...the original estimate was 2,000.
I usually don’t keep cars that long but the sweetest part of the ZR1 is it’s the ultimate beast with a manual transmission....my wife seems to be OK with me keeping the ZR1 and getting a ME...perhaps I’ll eventually get one but it will be hard to part with the MN7 if I had to....decisions....decisions...

General Motors will auction the final production seventh generation Chevrolet Corvette this summer, with the proceeds benefiting the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
The announcement, along with confirmation of the Next Generation Corvette’s development, was made this evening by General Motors Chairman and CEO Mary Barra, who was honored at the foundation’s annual Footsteps to the Future Gala in New York.
“GM, GMC and Chevrolet support the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and its commitment to injured and fallen military members, first responders and their families,” said Barra. “The sale of this iconic Corvette will help the foundation continue its good work, and pave the way for the Next Generation Corvette that we will introduce on July 18.”
The final seventh gen Corvette — a black 2019 Z06 model — will be auctioned at the Barrett-Jackson Northeast sale in Connecticut June 28. Registration information is available at www.barrett-jackson.com.
So final C7 will be a black Z06 and it will be up for auction on 28th of June. Therefore when do we assume production will cease? End of May 2019?

This is questionable, they are auctiong the car, BUT is it the actual car, or the build for the car ?

I've been considering doing a heads/cam/ported blower to my 2015 Z06/Z07, then possibly getting a ZR1 down the road when the prices dropped. But now knowing the ZR1 will only be one year, I'm thinking I might be better off just trading for one sooner rather than later. I actually don't feel the C8 will affect prices much, at least for a couple of years, as the two cars will be drastically different. Tough choices.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to C7 ZR1 values given the limited nature of the car.
