What all people expect is that their brand new car SHOULD go 3,000+ miles without a single failure, whatsoever!! As if this is a feature for GM's flagship vehicle.

Otherwise, a great story from the OP.

Expectations and reality sometimes aren't the same. The C6 ZR1 was a flagship. Do you want a list of issues I had with that car? Not that I didn't love the car, I kept it for 9 years after all.

Great write up and wonderful experience with the p/u at the museum. I wish you many more years and miles with the car. You had me thinking i need to order one. Then reality kicks in that i would need to sell my 15z w/12k miles on it and kick in another 70k or so. I’m going to keep my 15z. Leaves me a lot of money for tires, brake pads and track fees. Love the new zr1’s though.

The "Thing" in AZ is nothing more than an alleged dinosaur bone I am told. You missed nothing.

Just curious....did you have a clear bra installed before you left the NCM for your cross county drive? If you didn't did you experience any rock chip damage?

You live "125 miles west of Los Angeles"? Isn't that in the Pacific Ocean? Is your car the Yellow Submarine?

"Yellow Submarine"..maybe I oughta put that on my list of names for the car.

Actually, Goleta is 8-mi west of Santa Barbara and west-north-west of Los Angeles.

I thought the same thing until I drove the new ZR1. I don't miss my 16 Z06 at all.

Dumb financial move, but oh well,
D.

Name it '1878', Hib.
An insider thing and great conversation starter since it's obvious 1878 is not your birth year.

Wow.
That's a great idea. I've put it on the short list.

Sorry but I didn't catch this post for almost a week.

Thanks for filling me in on the "Thing".

I did not have a clear bra on the car before I left the museum. I did have two small chips after the trip. About a month after we returned to California, I had paint protection film applied at Transhine Auto Detailing in Whittier, California. He's an Xpel dealer so that's what went on the car.
