Any performance numbers? What is the weight? Trying to decide between this and Corsa...

Is it designed for the ZR1's exhaust flow and heat? Because GM proved that the Z06's exhaust was not entirely up to the LT5 task and ballooned.

Its a steel piece so weight isnt going to be like paperweight as akrapovic is. I shaved 40 lbs with akra.

I have not seen any dyno sheets for just the X-Pipe

They list the entire system as 18-22 HP/Tq

Have not heard that before - there are several out there in ZR1's and have not heard of any issues

- Yeah, follow the ZR1's development and one of the key changes was in the exhaust. The existing Z06 part ballooned out and failed from the LT5's heat and pressure. That was during track use, obviously. And many ZR1 owners track. If I were a supplier I would be concerned about liability supplying a part that wasn't tested under the conditions it might encounter with customers. As a consumer I would certainly not buy an aftermarket part that wasn't tested under (or designed for) conditions similar to factory part testing.

Tks for the info

The liability would be with the manufacturer, not the supplier (vendor)

I checked with Corsa, Borla, Billy Boat, Magnaflow and they have seen no failures of the kind
you are speaking about. While I don't know about any specific testing on this piece, (specifically
for the ZR1) I can tell you that they use better material, and comparable or better manufacturing
techniques.

We've sent out about 8 of these in the last week or so for ZR1's and have had nothing but rave reviews.

I passed this info along to the appropriate individuals

Regards
Chip

Got my AWE xpipe yesterday and found the time today to install it. All I can say is WOW...Totally wakes up the sound of the car. Not really sure it added any power (maybe a couple HP), but holy **** does it sound better. When driving and decel the exhaust pops like crazy and sounds fantastic. For $450 this is a great mod to make the car sound great and free up some restriction.

Install was a breeze and overall the piece fit very well.

Video from stock exhaust flaps closed then I open them:

Video from after the install and initial start with the flaps open then I close them and then open them again. (sorry about my son screaming in the background haha)

Have you had any issues with the CEL coming on from the secondary cat delete? I've read on older threads that people have had issues with other brands, but it seems so hit or miss.

No. Most people forget to remove the gaskets from old Xpipe and put them on the new, then they have a exhaust leak that causes a CEL.

No issues at all with mine.

...and the rear pup cats are behind the last O2 sensors
They are completely unmonitored and are not a part
of the measured emissions as far as the cars computer
is concerned 👍🏻
