Default WEAPON-X: Air intake tube for GM air box

Does anyone have the WEAPON-X: Air Intake Tube for GM Air Box? If so, is this worth installing with the GM Performance Intake for my LT5?

I did both the smooth intake tube & the gm cold airbox after taking delivery. Seemed to help with throttle response..

I have it. Installed the tube, throttlebody, and CAI all at the same time. Noticeable improvement but cant tell you how much the tube had to do with it.

I'm considering this mod, but curious...

The CAI assembly does not affect warrantee as long as it's installed by a GM dealer, right?

Same deal with a replacement X pipe, or not?

I don't think it really matters who does the install.

I have it and it made a difference when I installed. I will be removing soon and selling if you are interested. I am having the blower ported and going with a larger throttle body and 5" intake. It has about 600 miles on it if you are interested. However it will be a couple of weeks before I pull it off.

I just installed this on my 2019 ZO6 last night. I do have the GM Performance Cold Air Intake on my car so I’m not sure how well the tube would fit on the on the factory airbox, I just don’t know. The hose took me a minute to figure out, but the Weapon-X Tube is shipped to you with a rubber hose already attached to it, and it just completely replaces the factory PCV hose all together. The open end of the already attached hose just pushes right on to where you pull the factory hose off where it was clamped on at. If you can’t get the factory hose pulled off just squeeze on that little gray snap clamp with some pliers and twist on it a little bit and it will come right off. That was actually the easy part of the install. The Weapon X Tube itself, it’s hard to get on and fitted up right between the throttle body and intake box. It’s took me about an hour before I was finally able to get it wrestled on there good...

I haven actually drove the car yet since I put it on so I can’t really say yet if this mod makes a big difference but I’ll give an update on that. Just thought I’d share my experience with install because there’s no instructions or very little install tips out there on the web about this mod. Hope this helps!

The tube should fit the stock air box just like it fits the GM performance intake. I had just the tube on my car for a couple of days still with the stock air intake box before I installed my GMPI.

The tube for a C7 Z06 is also different than for the C7 ZR1 basically in the angle as it turns from the air box assy to the throttle body. TB is in a slightly different position between LT4 and 5 engine.

When it was introduced I bought the GM Performance intake which GM says is worth 17 hp on the LT5, not earth shattering but why not? It looks much better especially with WX smooth intake tube, it really cleans it up under the hood with the stock musical instrument looking connector gone!
I can also add that the GM Performance intake, WX smooth pipe and an x-pipe all done at the same time netted 21 whp on my ZR1 back in 2019.

I'm surprised that it wasn't more.
