Default My results after my cam swap

I honestly was hesitant to post up my recent build and post numbers but I figured it’s good to see different results. The modifications were all done in miscellaneous stages. I don’t have numbers to show on each step. The last piece to what I was doing on my car was a cam swap. That was completed a couple of weeks ago and I just got back from trailering it to CPR for the tune. The car drives 100% like stock except for the extra 300 horsepower. I have all of my modifications posted in my signature. While I typically do all my own work the cam swap was done by a trusted friend at JRG motor sports. All else I had done prior. A big thanks goes out to his shop, matt with gp tuning who helped with the initial tune and now to the team at CPR on the tune after the cam. The car is on 100 octane. Here is the dyno sheet:

Thank you! I don’t really know. I think the timing would have to be pulled back so far that it wouldn’t make sense. Part of me would love to be able to drive it on that but knowing where it’s at now timing wise and even how a stock car responds I wouldn’t suggest trying. I road race the car occasionally and we kept the tune conservative with that in mind. Even still if I were to be on e85 or meth I would have made larger numbers. Max horsepower wasn’t the goal in this case.

I’m in the middle of an almost identical build. Have a C7 Z06 that puts out 927/841 on 100 octane with a safe tune. I’ll **** a banana if my ZR1 build comes in less than that. Did you do the heads also?

Congrats Matt and super impressive!
Even more impressive is how you did most of the build yourself.
Thank you for all the text and e-mail messages during my build and for educating me along the way.
We are all very lucky for guys like yourself who are on this forum helping others.

God Bless and wish you a great Sunday!

Hey I forgot to ask. Are you staying with the stock clutch?

No heads. If I wanted higher numbers I could do heads, pulley it more, e85 or meth. Or if I were to do half mile racing we would bump the timing and make more.

Glad you're happy and thank you for trusting us to tune and spec out the cam!

I’m a decent driver but honestly even when racing before always had it in sport 1 or 2. I don’t ever turn it completely off. The computer allows me to play with it pretty hard but steps in if necessary. I’m ok with that. Better tires would make a huge difference in regards to the traction.

That's a great build with very respectful power and you can drive it and enjoy it knowing it isn't maxed out. I shoot for that same goal with all my cars.

Thank you. Drive ability and longevity have always been my focus when building my cars and each one gets better and better. I truly believe mission was accomplished here.

You got a pretty big cam in your car. Are you getting any bucking or surge at low RPM's?
I got a chance to drive mine some yesterday and something just does not seem right with the tune. I noticed the bucking & surge some when I picked it up, but did not drive it enough to see how bad it is. Pulling out of my driveway at low speed its bad to the point its not much fun.
I'm sure the tuner will say its perfectly normal but I know a lot of people with big cam Z06's that do not buck like mine does.
Any suggestions?

I'm on my 2nd cam and it's a bit larger than my previous one is and it surges a little bit. There are aftermarket TC's now so you may want to look into that if it really bothers you. I actually like it.
