Anyone have this happen: the Check Engine light and the Service Electric Parking Brake Light warning came on; the engine sound went to "Track", lost the gear indication on the dash and Rev Match wouldn't engage?
Got this from the Chevrolet dealer: John the technician working on your car. He has tried several times to get the code to return. he did open a case with GM tech assistance and its possibly position sensor in the transmission. Its not an easy replacement and at the same time, not currently active
Update: While on the highway using cruise control when going over rough road, the cruise control stopped working; then the gear indicator started cycling between the gear I was in and 2; then the Service Electric Parking Brake Light came on; a few seconds later the check engine light came on and the exhaust shifted into Track mode; I then noticed that Rev Match would not engage. Engine appeared to be operating okay.
Taking to another dealer - maybe they can figure out what is going on - I hope!

Reason: Update.

IMO, check engine light questions are impossible to answer concisely unless we know the code which turned the MIL on.
Based on what the tech said, your problem is intermittent–the worst kind of diagnostic problem to address.
In answer the OP, I made the assumption that the tech at the dealer checked battery condition first. If he/she did not, forget what I say above and ask the dealer to check the battery and charging system.
Yep. I'll bet that sensor replacement may be expensive because some work on 8L90s in C7s requires the rear suspension cradle be lowered or removed to allow clearance to drop the transmission fluid pan and I'm betting that sensor is inside the pan attached to the valve body.
Hi Hib - you were right - I went to a different Chevrolet dealer and he is convinced that my issue is the transmission sensor and quoted $4K+ of labor to replace it. He has had the car for two weeks and is not done yet. Oh well - I love this car and will do what I have to do to get her fixed.
