Possible E-Ray Sighting today (7/5/22)
Traveling East towards Yuma, AZ this afternoon. Clearly a Z06 body, but split exhaust. The brakes look different as well it seemed. Also, there was no audible sound coming out of the car. What do you guys think?

Not a possible sighting - It's a real sighting. That's definitely e-ray - Stingray style exhaust with Z06 style body. Can only be ERay.

100% an Eray:
1. Unique wheels
2. Stingray catback w/ the squircle tips (not to be confused w/ export Z06 tips)

Banned Scam/Spammer
so you have a big red ejection button thingie
Then a little flag of Belgium on the passenger side dash
Then if you zoom in there is some stand with small squares sticking out which I have no idea
Then last you and an official GM Stop, "Contents in car faster then Z06" Sticker

I am not sure who is misinformed about a HEV aka mild hybrid vs a PHEV - Plugin Hybrid Electric Vehicle. I suspect the overwhelming majority of people who actually want to buy the ERay and have a deposit down for one, want a PHEV. The benefits of a PHEV over a HEV for a street driven car are dramatic - for an insignificant difference in costs. So yes, those of us actually wanting to buy the ERay are looking for that extra port.

Safety Car
I completely disagree with this statement. This is a performance car first and foremost, so I would think the overwhelming majority would only want an ERay for the performance aspect it will add to the car, like AWD and 0-60 times. Being able to drive 20 miles on electric power only would not be on most peoples radar. This is irrelevant to me, and I'm sure to most other potential buyers.
I could care less if the electric motors hurt mpg as long as it performed better.

HEV ERay: AWD 0-60 2.6 No EV range MPG 19 city 24 hwy.
ERay with PHEV "option". Differences: 0-60 2.3. 20 mile EV only range. MPGe over 50. Weight increase 150 lbs. Option price $3k
The PHEV will allow for more powerful electric motors because of the greater volts available from the larger battery. For street driving the PHEV will hands down return a better driving experience. It could give the Z06 a run for the money in the 1/4 mile.

Yes I do, since last December. #9 on the list. I understand everything completely, but still don’t care about EV only power range. I really don’t want a plug-in, but if they make it that way, then I’ll have to live with it, or sell it. We’ll see….someday.

I have a BMW X5 45E PHEV. With 11000 miles on the odometer, over 6000 are pure electric. I enjoy the all electric now with gas at $5.00 a gallon. I’m not really interested in the C8 ERAY for the same reasons, it’s the performance benefit with AWD and 100 more HP with instantaneous torque. The wide body of the Z06 clinches it.

Not sure if in majority or minority
I don't know whether a majority would want a hybrid or a PHEV, but for my part, I want a PHEV Eray for all the reasons msm859 recited. If it is only a hybrid, I might still buy it (depending on the specifications) but probably would not (and probably would get a different C8 variant, or even a base C8). A hybrid seems so mincing; so 1997. It is fine for a grocery getter, but seems out of step with a premier cutting edge sports car, from a company so vocal about an electric (non-hybrid) future. The case for a PHEV gets even more compelling with the Z06 launch delay. Presuming that they will need to space out release of the Eray from the Z06, such that the Eray release is more than 10 months away from now, a mere hybrid would seem even more outdated and plebian.

Is there some reason to not make it PHEV? I mean make it FWD in pure electric mode. Easy right?
