With the small size of the battery, it looks like the ERay will be good for, what, a couple of passes at a drag strip? Maybe a one time flying mile? Seems to me you could do this with a nitrous bottle, and as for track performance, you wouldn't have a 260 pounds of weight in the the car. Yes, there's the convenience factor. You don't have to fill up the nitrous bottle. But the counterpoint to convenience is that nitrous wouldn't have been at a big jump over base price . $35,000 over base, but of course you do get more content over base than just the electrics.
Apologies for being a spoil sport. It's a technologically interesting car and will do a great job doing what it was designed for. It's great they electrified the car somewhat and didn't drop the 6,2 liter V8 engine in the process.

There is a lot more to the eRay than just the additional horse power. Whether you think its worth the money is up to you. I'm guessing a fair number of people who want to accelerate as fast as possible or want to be able to drive in inclement whether might think it is worth it.
If I had the money, I'd certainly think about it, although my standard stingray z51 can already go a lot faster than I am capable of driving it.

Idiot. AWD completely changes the game. It doesn't just add power. It adds control.

Well and nitrous puts stress on the motor. If anything, the electric side possibly reduces load on the engine. I think that’s one aspect of this people aren’t considering. When you’re accelerating normally, the front is also pulling for traction, so there’s less stress on the V8. If you’re concerned about longevity, this may help the engine side have a longer life.
