Hmm, lets see with all the negative comments they get on this forum their end year 2022 Vette sales were:
From GM 2022 Corvette Sales:
1. MacMulkin = 1,486
2. Ciocca = 1,441
3. Mike Furman/Criswell = 603
4. Bonmin (Dadeland) = 582
5. Les Stanford = 481
6. Stingray = 291
7. Bonmin (West Kendall) = 225
8. Rick Hendrick (Duluth) = 222
9. Coughlin = 207
10. George Matick = 179
Can understand some frustration re their lack of having an E-Ray list but as Dave Salvatore (who was there as Sales Manager when I bought my 1st Vette from them in 1988) said early this year they saw no reason to hold folks E-Ray deposits that long.
As I noted in an above post the "other big dealer" has 2 million in deposits for what will soon be a year if they have 500. If it's 650, as I believe someone posted that is their Hold-A-Spot number, then it's 2.6 million earing interest! Great for them but not great for those who may be getting a 2025.
Apparently GM has not given dealers an estimate of how many E-Rays they can expect as a percent of their MY 2024 Vette Allocation. Also it appears all dealers have had few E-Ray orders they can place with GM.
Guess it's difficult for those waiting BUT would it be better not knowing if you'd get a 2024, 2025? At what point should a dealer (as some have done) just stop taking more Hold-A-Spot order deposits for E-Rays?
SIDEBAR
This is not new as the prior Kerbeck did similar.
For example when some others were taking early Hold-A-Spot orders for 2014 C7s Dave would not until months later.
When I placed a Hold-A-Sport order for my C8 soon after the launch in July, I was somewhat under half their expected Corvette allocation which was about 1400. Soon after, while most dealers were continuing to take Hold-A-Spot deposits Kerbeck stopped taking 2020 Hold-A-Spot orders in like September and started a 2021 order list. In February 2020 GM finally told dealers they could expect only half or that they had estimated. Kerbeck actually had to ask a few on the 2021 list if they wanted to move to 2020. They filled their 2020 allocation. Most other dealers were sending out, "Sorry we can't fulfill your MY2020 C8 Deposit it will have to be a 2021."

I think the Z06 was one reason they are being cautious. I had no interest in the Z06 but did follow their method of accepting Hold-A-Sport deposits. Was concerned that the accepting deposits via wire transfer was a problem if used to the E-Ray. Found out some had a way to do it themselves but asking a bank to do it +/- 30 seconds from a fixed time was not easy!
However I saw the biggest problem was flippers who might be good at sending wire transfers at very specific time. Appeared to me the biggest issue was on their end. They had so many wire transfers returning must have been a PIA!
Standing in line for over 24+ hours in very cold weather was also crazy, not something I would do. Even mail, FedEx, UPS had big delays.
Can understand not taking folks money and holding for a year plus is not good either.

Took the advice of the salesman years ago that it would be best to show up in person for the Z06 deposit. Subsequent in person visits (more than once) was told a new list would be out soon for the E Ray but no details as yet. By no means am I looking for sympathy here but bottom line: Ciocca has failed Me and no forum praise can change that.

At Carlisle this year (and as recall it was stated elsewhere) it was said the process will all be done on the Net. However until they (and other dealers) know about what % of their expected MY 2024 Corvette allocations can be E-Rays, can understand it is difficult for them to put something on the Net without a statement that after xxx a Hold-A-Spot deposit will be for MY 2025s. Assume when you press whatever to provide the refundable deposit you'll know your approximate number in the list..
But understand does not make folks "feel better."

hm. i recently decided what i actually want is an eray. then i read this thread and decided this is going to be a shitshow likely somewhat worse than the Z06 was, because now we have the effects of the strike to deal with.
well, crap.
one thing is for sure, gentlemen, dont even think about paying above MSRP. we need to nip that **** in the bud. enough is enough...

So you don’t believe in a free economy? If people have the money and want something why would a dealer not take advantage of that? I work a Barney job in a super rich neighborhood. These folks are the 1 % of the 1 %s! They have the money and get whatever they want.
knew a guy who wanted a pt cruiser when they came out. There was a list. He sees a carrier go by follows it. Young sales guy comes out, he says I want that car, kid says we got a list about 20 deep.
dude says go get your sales manager He drove the car home that day. Think it was sold at msrp?
when you trade a car do you take the first offer from the dealer? Why not?

Free market. Have to take the good with the bad. Ciocca has not promised anything so there we go.

Melting Slicks
I spoke with Dan, Ciocca's general manager last week regarding the E-Ray. While he didn't give details, he did say they aren't going to repeat the Z06 situation again. They aren't going to take deposits on cars they won't be getting for years. That's the bottom line. So whatever system they devise...the Z06 situation won't be repeated.
Without him saying this...My belief is that I think that loyal customer's who have a good history and purchasing track record with Ciocca will get first dibs for the limited number of E-Rays and ZR-1's that will be allocated. Personally, I think that's the way it should be done. This will help eliminate the flippers and reward their loyal customers and supporters. Time will tell.

Yep, they have been getting a lot of flak for not starting to take Hold-A-Sport orders earlier when Dave Salvatore said in ~February they saw no need to hold folks deposits that long. The other big volume seller has had ~2.5 million in deposits for what will be a year and for some who may get a MY 2025 maybe 2 years.
Have no inside info but appears GM has not allowed dealers to place orders for many E-Rays and has not given estimates to dealers about how many MY 2024 E-Rays they might be able to order.
Recall Dave after they started taking C8 Hold-A-Spot deposits, when it was obvious GM was not going to be able to fill their MY 2020 volume estimate in ~September 2019 started a MY 2021 if you wanted to knowingly wait. Other dealers just kept taking deposits for MY 2020's. In ~February 2020 when GM cut all original planned dealer Vette allocations in ~half, they asked some on the MY 2021 list if they wanted to move forward. They filled their allocation. Most other dealers were sending out, "Sorry we can't fill your MY 2020 order letters."
I had placed my C8 Hold-A-Spot deposit soon after the reveal in July 2019 just under ~half their original GM Vette allocation estimate, so followed closely. GM extended the MY 2020 build date and I got mine in September 2020.
