Great Podcast Steve. 👍
Some good new Info:
  • Josh Holder said NOT critical for a DIYer to do a flush prior to DCT filter change. He said they actually have similar flush periods occur in normal driving!
  • Clarified what was said after last year's BASH. ZER is only Summer Tires. They thought it may, like all other years, required different suspension tuning so the reason for the different suspension number. But not needed.
  • It was reinforced that 100F is where the E-Ray battery "likes to be." They let it warm-up then use a small amount of AC coolant to keep it from getting too high
  • Battery is NOT the issue stopping using Stealth use at lower temps. It is mostly emissions. Cold LT2 Starts with cold CATs cause higher emissions. Enemn in Stop/Start if CATs are starting to cool excessively the LT2 starts.
  • They reinforced that for Tracking the Z06 is the choice. The E-Ray is well rounded great all-weather cruiser. Josh Holder said the E-Ray will be best drag racing, at least for an 1/8 mile!
  • Tadge added cooling was a major challenge compared to FE Vettes where they had a lot of experience. Where competitors had prior ME's where they could find what didn't work, they had to develop the proper engine cooling and getting the hot air out of the engine compartment. It was said, unlike Ferrari etc where the cars are "more toys" with no need to focus on storge space. They need to have storage capacity, place to put the removable roof, to meet the Corvette design criteria meant they could not use the trunk area to vent air coming in from the rear fender scoops.
