Default c8 Nitrous questions

Hey everyone. I'm going to be buying a c8 this weekend and want to go ahead and get some nitrous installed. First few questions I have:

1.) Do I need the lingenfelter timing box and if so, does it usually come with the nitrous kit or do I need to get it separately?
2.) What's a safe jet to use on a c8? Since we can't tune them I'm assuming 100, MAYBE 150? I won't be spraying out of the hole, just looking for a little top end help
3.) Approximately how much should a nitrous install on a c8 cost?

Thanks

1. Lingenfelter box is separate. You can probably get away with 100 shot or less without one but always safer to pull some timing.
2. I would stay with 100 or less. The clutches in the DCT cant hold much more.
3. Depends on what accessories you are running and the shop labor rate but $1000-$2000. Not hard to install just time consuming making it look nice.

Let me know if I can help you out with a kit. PM me for the best price.

We ran a 150 shot on our car for a little bit but the clutches weren't a big fan after a couple passes.

The 100 shot would be your best bet!

Thanks
Andrew

I would think it depends on the RPM deployed. The kits are rated on HP based on the amount of fuel and NO2 injected. You should look at the torque curve under nitrous. The transmission is rated based on torque, not HP. If you add 150 HP at 4000 RPM, you are adding approximately 196 lb/ft of torque, which would put at about 650 lb/ft, which is above the 590 lb/ft rating of the transmission. Add if it works right, adds about 400 lb/ft at 2000 RPM which would put you in the range of 750-800 lb/ft of torque, well above the transmission rating.
