I too went from a C7 Zo6 to a C8 TT. I am curious as to why you are doing manual shifts vs auto-mode for acceleration runs? I agree the manual shift is really hard to time with how fast the engine revs under boost. My sense is we should have full TCM tuning some-time this spring. There are already a few things that can be done with HP tuners.
Not manual shifts. Still hits rev limiter, because the rate of climb is so much faster than stock and neither shift point or rev limit is programmable.
We also all need to remember what an absolute monster the C7 Zo6 is from a roll or whenever it has traction. In 7 years of ownership, I never once said what this thing needs is more power in any gear or at any RPM. 650 horsepower with 650 ft/lbs of torque at 3400lbs. I had an 8 speed automatic car, and the shifts were brutally firm and lightning fast. My car also had base aero (non Zo7) and would effortlessly pull to as fast as you wanted to go. GT500's were about the only think stock that could run with it, and they are more traction challenged including from a roll.
Thats it. I dont see to many opportunities to "pull" someone from a standing start. In the 50 to 100 range, my C8 and my C7Z are essentially the same.
QUOTE=C8USA;1607477517]So your TT C8 is dead even with your C7Z with just headers and a tune? 😬 $30k all-in is a lot to spend for that level of performance, but it’s less than what’s being quoted in here, ($38k). Put a pulley on the C7Z and it’ll pull what, 6+ car lengths?
I’m just not sold on it. But to each their own. I hope in the future there’s cheaper options. For that level of performance the absolute most I’d be willing to pay is $20k all-in.[/QUOTE]
To each their own. I have a fast C7Z. I wanted a C8. I wanted the C8 to be as fast as the C7Z. Comparing the two from a value stand point makes no sense to me.
And comparing them to a POS GT500 makes even less. May as well compare it to a RAM TRX
