Just found this C8 render
This is a pretty underwhelming render, even down to the gauzey look of the pic. As they point out on the HP, it looks like an "ugly wedge of cheese." But we have one of our guys working on one that shouldn't suck, and I'll post that ASAP.

Side air inlets are to large and the front will not need all the air inlets. I expect to see a front that has more the look of the late model Corvair without the bumper. The exception being cooling air inlets for the front brakes, and modern lighting faired into the fender like the C6 and C7. Don't expect round tailights, just wouldn't look on a car of this caliber.

^^ Yeah, the more I look at it, the less I like it. I know the General will come up with something way better.

Did I hear someone wants to bring back the Corvair?
Yea - just kick that air cooled pancake 6 forward a foot or two...
Bet they could sell a good number of those to the rabid mid engine fans!

I would much rather have the C8 looking like any of the best renders from back when we were all dreaming of what the C7 could look like:
Perhaps something like this:
That design on the OP is far too plain looking, looks like a toned down McLaren MP4-12C. It's clear there is some great talent in the corvette design team. I just hope they have the ***** to go revolutionary on the design and not create a trammed down version of one of their bolder propositions.
The C7 was a huge improvement in all aspects over the C6 except perhaps the look. Don't get me wrong I do like the C7 design and I will likely own one one day when I'm ready to let go of my C6 but the C8 could be so much better with a more futuristic look that is true to the corvette heritage after all the future is now isn't it.

the mid engine car will have to have aerodynamics and cooling suitable for over 200 mph if it is to be competitive, so that will almost certainly affect the styling. ford did a good job of building both a fast and good looking car. it will be interesting to see what gm has come up with.
the good news is that if it's a turkey, there are plenty of good deals on low mileage used supercars for a lot less than $125k. i doubt that gm will abandon the 50 to 100 k price range when new. that too will be interesting to see.
i'd like to see them revive a convertible that looks as good as the solstice with a 5.3 pushrod motor but higher performance and quality build than the 4 cylinder pontiac.
i like threadstarter's picture of whoever's rendering. i hope the real thing looks at least that good and sells for 79,995 base price with a pushrod base engine if they have to use it to keep the price reasonable. they can have add ons to the moon if they want as long as there is a "reasonably price car" (top gear's nomenclature) for a base.
daniel kangas put out the prettiest rendering i have seen yet; https://fr.pinterest.com/pin/372884044131321061/
if i were gm, i'd snap him up if he were interested.

Johnny, as the guys have pointed out, this is a mid-engine rendering, NOT a C8 drawing. To reiterate, the C8 will not appear until sometime around 2019 to 2021.
