Default C8 Mid-Engine ZR-1 Corvette Concept MMXIX - What do you think?

Edited: [Please don't comment unless you read everything. Just look at the pictures. Most comments aren't even responding to what I wrote or said or meant. People are just arguing needlessly.

I'm trying to be helpful. Those of you who have responded negatively sure are an uninspiring lot, let me say.]

My posts are mainly meant to advance the design of the Corvette. I think the evolutionary process is taking too long. We aren't going to be on this earth forever. I was expecting the C5 or C6 front end to look more like this. I think they are two or three generations behind.

All Corvettes are beautiful. Don't take offense, my comments are mainly meant for GM. I saw a white C7 yesterday. It was stunning. It was parked next to a dark colored Lamborghini that I hardly noticed.

It would be so disappointing to me if the mid-engine car looks like a classic Le Mans car or anything like the Ford GT40. I would like it to look more futuristic. I think it should be more than a C7 modified into a mid-engine layout, also. I was expecting more of a leap. Do we have to creep forward in design?

This is edited to put some of the most recent drawings here at the top. Some of the ones below are old drawings when I first started. First time poster. Just signed up. I used the grey CF mid-engine rendering posted under another thread by the Corvette Forum editor as my starting point. The only thing that is left of that picture are the tires and the floor though. What do you think of this design? Of the DESIGN only please, not the lighting. I'm not a pro illustrator. Just self taught. I don't have time to make the drawing perfect. Some of the drawings are half complete. Wanted to get my point across, didn't want to wait a year to post a perfect drawing. Some thoughts and ideas about what I would like to see in a mid-engine Corvette.

Default C8 Mid-Engine Corvette Concept MMXIX (2019)

Made a few more improvements on my design. I call it MMXIX. 2019 in Roman numerals. Hopefully, some version of a mid-engine Corvette will be out by then. A lot of people have been looking forward to it for a long time. (This picture was early on in the drawing process. I didn't know how much time I would spend on it at the time, but I wanted to post it even though I wasn't finished with it yet. I made some improvements later, mainly on the front end)

Default Looks Good

An amazing looking car. Looks like a 720S McClaren.
If it becomes a Corvette, I just hope it is affordable or it becomes another amazing super car that only the wealthy can own.
I do believe that the Mid Engine Corvette can be built within the same cost parameters as the C7. Hopefully that will be the outcome.
I really like the C7 Z06; however, it would be difficult to give up on that style of car. Overall very nice looking car.
Thanks for sharing.

I think they will have both, a front and mid engine models. Thanks for the compliments. Here's another version with a little more exotic front quarter. (Again, this picture was early on in the drawing process. I didn't know how much time I would spend on it at the time, but I wanted to post it even though I wasn't finished with it yet. It looks like a better looking version of the Alfa Romeo 4c.

The picture is a little dark. I can see the side scoop or rocker area.

Ok, I changed it a little. I think that makes it look better. Thanks.

Zora wanted a mid engine Vette way back when (I started following Corvettes) GM has probably sqeezed about as much as they can out of OHV engine. Time to update the Vette with dual OHC engines and go mid engine designs. I started my Vette fantacy in 1955 and my first was a 1975. My last was a 1985 until I bought my 2016 Stingray (2005 Cadillac XLR in between) Unfortunately most new Vette buyers don't care less about Vette history, they just want a cool looking car (I still "wave" but nobody waves back)

Default Timelapse Drawing

I saw the grey rendering of a mid-engine Corvette that was posted by the Corvette Forum Editor. I disliked it so much, it inspired me to draw my own.

The original rendering is realistic and it seems your renditions are smoothed over and mottled.

I do not see the benefit of obscuring an object in an attempt to make it look better.

You're seeing the intermediate drawings as I drew it to get to the final product. I think the last few that I posted are very clear. At least on my tv. That's the way I used the computer to mold and shape. I thought it would be interesting to show the drawing process. Self taught. You're right, the grey one posted by Corvette Forum is more clear. I just don't like that design at all. You're actually the first person I've seen on here that likes that render. Everybody has their own tastes though.

The thread is confusing because I edited my original post to have the most recent design at the top. Some of the ones below it are old drawings, in the process of getting to the final design.

This might help. The rendering posted by the Corvette Forum editor is on the left. My design is on the right. No offence to the person who drew it. They are technically skilled in using a computer program to make drawings look realistic. I just think the design is bad. Offering my opinion if Chevrolet sees this. And I don't think the mid-engine corvette should have C7 body panels.
