Actually, Ford did a LOT of market research before introducing the Edsel. It just turned out that they either asked the wrong questions, asked the wrong people, or misinterpreted the data they collected. They fully expected the car to be well-received and were quite surprised when it wasn't. The take-away of all this for business courses it that market research can be a valuable tool for considering the introduction of a new product - but there are no guarantees.

What do you think about the name Zora?
I would just keep it simple - C8 - Let the car speak for itself. Assuming it's good enough to do that.

The marketing flop is still being taught today in business courses. Ford Motor Company designed and built a car without doing due diligence on marketing research. No one really wanted this latest and greatest creation and the car was doomed from the start, the name Edsel didn't help. Will history repeat with the mid-engine Corvette? (Sources say that the current C7 will be built alongside the mid-engine early in the program). Seems GM isn't sure!
It still happens today.. and the syndrome is the "Emperor has no clothes" Happened to VW with Dieselgate as well...
When you get the wrong psychopath in charge, you get bad things... the right psycho can work wonders... Steve Jobs for example.
you can interchange the word psychopath with *******. Same difference

Outside of the forum the name Zora probably does not mean anything. Would not be my first choice of names for a new car model.

^^^ Agreed ^^^
BTW, GM is not required to use the name "Zora."
