I was told today that GM will only be making 2000 C7 ZR1's
My buddy owns a truck stop in PA. and a truck pulled in with a few Corvettes on it. He went out and started talking to the driver and the driver told him that he has hauled 2 ZR1's to GM's Proven grounds. I guess he was talking to someone their from GM and they told him they are only going to make 2000. I don't know how reliable this source was but that is what was said. For what it's worth I'm on "The List" for a C7 ZR1. My dealer is the biggest Corvette dealer in the Pittsburgh area and he said they will probably get 2 maybe 3. Again this is what I'm being told. I guess time will tell..

Like any fortune teller even nostradamus, put out enough predictions? One is bound to be right lol..
who knows. I just don't think they'll limit them. Not to a round number.... 2019? 2020? Lol. Would be nice to have them numbered.

I would guess that GM will make as many ZR1's as the market will buy. They are not a niche car producer and the Corvette is a mass produced car. I am sure they want to make a lot of money with this car and limiting production will limit their profits.

Whatever it takes to get the first 2000 suckers to pay 20k over MSRP.

lol yeah. I can't wait until everyone gets their ZR1 thinking there's a limited production. Then i'm sure the debut year will have some problems. Guess i'll wait for the 2nd or 3rd year to make my move on one lol

Good point there. If there is a belief that there are limited numbers for this car the dealers will have a good time jacking up the prices. The second year of production will see many sitting on dealer lots at a discount since the early adopters will already have one.

The number could be right based on when they actually start building them during the model year.....Also maybe the GM guy said "around" 2000.

I predict that GM will only make 2000 ZR1's. Then when they sell, they will make 2000 more.

It was not true until it made it on the internet. Now its true.
Like most cars that GM sells, it will be "limited" to the number they can sell.

Well yes and no remember GM can only build so many Corvettes a day. On the same assembly line you have Stingrays, Grand Sports, Z06's and now maybe adding ZR-1's. Stingrays and Grand Sports will be the bulk of the builds then Z06's so how many ZR-1's can they sneak in????
They have the capability to build any mix of models as long as they have contracted their suppliers for the necessary parts, and their suppliers are tooled up to supply that number of parts each day.
