Default C8 interior opinions/ thoughts/ ideas

All this talk about exterior, dual clutch transmission, and engine type but no one has started a thread about something else just as important as all of those.. the interior!

Now i I know we don’t have any spy shots, documents, or sources regarding interior so I know this might not be an exciting topic.

If the c8 interior is just as innovative and beautiful as the c7 is, then that would make this Car perfect. I would love to see a gear select buttons instead of a shift ****, push to start on the wheel, and maybe some traditional clusters as well!

What would you you like to see in the interior of your C8? Shoot away and cheers!

Something similar to the McLaren 720S hide away dash, but done as a HUD. All the info needed laid out more extensively (wider) and customizable. They've been doing HUD almost 20 years now, wow us. And make it smell more like dead animal hide and less like industrial adhesive

Love this dash in my ‘17 A4. And can even display Google Earth 2D-3D paired with an iphone. It also has a second independent center display too but I could do without except it is handy for copilot wife to enter destination and search POIs, radio stations.

The overall quality of the materials HAS to get better. While the C7 is way better than the C6 its not GREAT. And they better not have a lot of hard plastic type surfaces either. Go look at a GT3 or AMG GT or Aston. The leather, stitching, aluminum pieces are all awesome.

100% correct. The weakest link in the Corvette has always been the interior for me. I really hope they step it way up in this department. It should look and feel like a 100k plus car! Also please god start with a fresh design don't just pull it from the parts bin!

Yep. No shared parts from Cobalts or any other GM product either.

I keep thinking if they are benchmarking the Porsche Turbo S(like we have seen in pics) they will have to get the interior right as well. That was my last car (minus the S) and the interior build quality is very very nice. Not even getting in to the performance aspect which was massive. If they are really wanting to compete with that they will have to bring the A game. Which I really am hoping for!

Glad this thread is taking off! I agree with the plastic pieces and whole new design for the inside! Brushed aluminum will be much nicer. Drove my mothers Audi A4 the other day and that interior is on point! Lol, hopefully GM can do the same! Really do want some cool and unique stitching in there!

If Chevy has a weakness its in interior design IMHO. I hope they take advantage of this opportunity to turn this around. Yes, aluminum, suede/leather, carbon fiber (real), and nice stitching would all work nice! Also don't make it so busy I think simple is better. I think the interior of the Ford GT is bomb! Something along those lines would kill it. Oh and please don't let BOSE have anything what so ever to do with the sound system!!!!!!! Nothing says high end like a freakin BOSE audio system!!

Please do not make the interior too busy — with a hodgepodge of different materials, shapes and angles; instead let it be elegant, simple, and exotic, of really top end materials for those who choose the 3 or even 4 level interiors.

Like for us to have great info display flexibility, as was developed in our C7. But give us more choices, and please give us the opportunity to “keep” what we choose before we turned it of.

For example, little things... why can we not have our cars, if we leave them in weather mode in winter, start up in weather mode IF we so choose. Or for those who are on the track, why does the same start up ritual have to be done when we just came in for an end of session break, going out to shortly do another session.

I can't think of any part in the C7 interior which is shared with a Cobalt or any other GM car.

I too wish for a more upscale interior, but it's funny to see people bring up names like Aston, McLaren, GT3, AMG GT,.... All those cars are very limited in numbers, not a mass-produced C8. Gotta be realistic.

Minimalistic Benz, BMW and Porsche interiors are the benchmark

I’m sure the C8 interior is going to look incredible and improved from the C7, especially a sharper resolution - wider radio console/display.

I agree with most of these posts....including the comment that you don’t need to go to the super exotics to get high end looking AND feeling interiors.

But I also don’t care much for most of the BMW or Benz interiors...except for their very high end vehicles. This school of interior design that slaps an iPad to the dash doesn’t work for me. In that respect the C7 got it right.

However, all the Porsche models I‘ve sat in and driven lately have a VERY nice precision look and feel. Makes me almost forget they’re largely ugly. And while relatively expensive...I appreciate being able to spec what I want and pay as I go. There’s no way in hell GM can be all things to all people so I appreciate being able to do what I want even if it costs me an extra $20K or more.

Just sayin.....

Possibly, here is for banishing GM standard hardware from the Corvette!

I hope we have a nicer infotainment display/ screen/ program. The corvette one is such an eyesore and it looks cheap IMO

Steering wheel is shares with Camaro Ss just different badging. I personally don’t like the Ford GT interior, it’s too race car not practical for the majority of corvette owners. I’d much prefer something along the lines of the 720s. I like the comp seats, just a upgrade in material finish would be nice and an updated info. I love HUD and the PDR system (could use an upgraded camera though!). Amazing how tons of the competition doesn’t have this.

are you talking the whole system or like the resolution? I think the resolution needs to be upgraded. Our ‘17 Malibu is the same system just much better resolution. It’s like a 720 tv vs 1080 and needs to be 4K!!!
