Las Vegas Dealer's Conference: C8 Announcement, it is coming!

Funny!
There isn't any way GM can be CERTAIN the Faithful will transfer to the ME.
They will hedge their bets and continue producing the C7...for awhile at least.
IF it turns out there is a substantial amount of folks who absolutely will NOT go for a ME, GM will eventually produce a new gen of FE to compliment the ME.

The premise to this theory is mis-placed: the idea that GM has to transfer ALL (faithful) current FE customers to ME...
What about getting new ones..
911 customers may be faithful...maybe not...
are customers of the old and slow Caymans and Boxers as faithful?

As Mike Furman has repeatedly noted on his Sunday delivery threads, much more than any generation before, he is selling C7’s to current Porsche owners. Even some to Ferrari owners, Maserati owners and similar.
That trend will accelerate when the ME Corvette is available.

If it's all it's cracked up to be, I'll trade them both in on a new ME.

Obviously the BIG assumption on my part is that the Corvette ME will initially be positioned as "new" alternative (read "inferior") to the FE platform to see if they can indeed catch those new buyers....

I'm all over this car as long as it's physically small.
I have more than a passing interest in the new Cayman GT4 but man, $100K+ for a 400 hp car with terrible gearing (80mph in second gear) and high maintenance costs, makes you really understand what a value the Corvette is.

Just as there are "Porsche Guys" (those who will always buy the next gen), so are there "Corvette Guys."
There are a lot of guys around here who have been buying Vettes for decades and are loyalists to the model.
are customers of the old and slow Caymans and Boxers as faithful?

GM has said the redo of the plant would allow the FE and ME to be built at the same time - not unlike the coupe and convertible. The C8 is the 8th generation of the FE Corvette. The ME will be the ZORA - GM trademarked the name. Production of the 2019 C7 started early and will probably end early. The assembly line will be set up for the ZORA, and production will begin for the 2020 ZORA. Meanwhile, work has already begun on the design of the FE, and it will be gradually introduced to the assembly line along with the ZORA for the introduction in late 2020 as the 2021 C8. This is just my opinion based on many sources and this forum.

NO GM employee has said that the, “the redo of the plant would allow the FE and ME to be built at the same time.”
I was there last year, and the exact language shared by Kai Spande, BGA Plant Manager was, “as a result of our upcoming 13 week remodel, the Plant will have the same multi-model capability as many other GM plants, but do not read anything into that about potential future products.” He immediately re-stated right after that, that having dual model capability does not mean that BGA is going to use that multi-model capability, and then also repeated that it does not mean anything about future product at BGA.

C7 BOB, GM has not said that there is going to even be an ME.

Cop: No, of course I'm not a cop.

The spy photos of the c8 are showing relatively narrow front and rear tires...
I see that as the standard corvette c8.
Of course I could be wrong but I don't think so.
Although it is just an opinion based on no facts other than the spy photos don't seem to look like the high performance model or version everyone thinks it will be...
If GM continues to build the front engine corvette as well as the rear mid engine version that's ok too..
Doubt it will happen but stranger things have happened..

Come on guys GM is just playing with your heads, ever watch a magician it's called "Sleight of hand" they have you looking at one hand while the trick is actually in the other. There is no ME, they have everyone looking at this so call ME car and then bang the real trick will happen.

there are 2 different mules driving around. Maybe one has "more" dynamic elements? One is likely a vert as the rear decks look different and have different wheels.
I agree that there "should" be a hood vent but the images shown for 20 sec "could" have been doctored to eliminate too much detail...
Also some angles do not clearly show a hood vent on some production cars.
I think that this one here is pretty close. except for the hood, I don't think that huge concave is even there
