You are making an assumption the car will look remotely like that.

Okay, now fill us in on this drawing, its source, etc.

EDIT: And a first ‘Thanks’ to you for dropping by. You’ve got a lot of reading to catch up on and it is much more intense now than back before the C7.

Wow CrabbyJ, thank you for your warm words! I hope you are well! I came back because only now do I feel that I can offer insight to this wonderful forum. Crabby remembers my obsessiveness about Corvette design and where it is heading. Before I came back I have spent months reading everything I could find on the C8 and in these travels I came across this sketch. This is the only concept/drawing/sketch that fits all clues ever mentioned by witnesses to the real thing. Rear widow buttresses, fender peaks that match the Corvette Concept, air intake that matches the LaFerrari, side view of taillight, front facia that is similar to current ZR1, greenhouse that matches camo cars, odd air intake on hood. All witnesses have said that the C8 still looks like a Corvette as this sketch surely reflects. Most of all, this sketch works. I am in awe of the other drawings and photoshops I have seen but this one is just different, it works too well.

I believe we've all seen this sketch. And yes. Broadly it matches the eyewitness descriptions. It does not match the C8.R as precisely. I believe the C8.R is much closer to the real production street version.

If you study the camo cars very closely the side air inlet of the pictured C8R can’t be hidden under the wrap. The air inlet on the production car is more subtle.

If you think its gonna look like the c8r your smoking crack. Does the c7 look like a c7r ughh hell no.
the c8 will look very close to a c7 with a mid engine. Its going to be a 60k car not a 200k lambo.
its funny reading posts from everyone thinking im gonna buy a 200k car for 60k.
this thing will look just like any other car.

I think it is closer than you think.

Have a look at these images. Note the arrows. You can see the upper and lower leading edges of the side intake...exactly where the c8R inlet begins and the exact same angles.

Also note the overlay of the C8R and street cam mules. It is all there. VERY similar. The c8R has no doubt enhanced ground effects, side sill and grill as well as the huge wing...but the basic car is the same.

Note the lines and surfaces. They are all there.

Looks have nothing to do with cost IMO. There are many cars that "look" like the should cost a lot more and have tremendous designs.

Materials, technology and execution will drive the price IMHO.

firstvettesoon, this is subtle detail but matters a bunch:::the side air inlet is angled incorrectly on the C8 overlay and the C8R.

Hi John,
Have a closer look. Taking the slightly different camera angles into account they are identical in shape and size...at least their starting points which can be seen clearly peeking out of the black camo.

Could there be a different shape to the side scoop on the street version...sure. Anything is possible but IMO, these mid-engine race variants from Mclaren and Ferrari dont change the basic design of the cars...they add some extra wings, cannards, grills and spoilers etc, but the car generally looks the same.

here is an overlay to show how the R car looks with the camo. To me...it's pretty close.

I am with you firstvettesoon as to how the inlet begins at the top of the door but the radius is much different than dipicted on the camo C8R. I believe the correct inlet shape is similar to the LaFerrari.

There are not too many ways those exposed angles on the mule can converge...attractively. Sure, it could be subtler or rounder...but why would they?

Can you show what rasius you are referring to? As far as I know, the only mention of it being like the LaFerrari was C7Pimp, and if I recall correctly he said it was similar to the LaFerrari but only in the way it began on the door.

Can you explain what you are seeing? Thanks!

FVS, of course I can’t be sure but this design could just as easily be under the camo. The side inlet will be much softer on the actual car and I believe, quite similar to the above sketch.

Ok. I thought you were seeing something else. That sketch was done a while back when we all thought we saw that shape under the camo. Could still be of course... we don't know anything for sure, but it is fun to ponder.

Keep lookin...we will know something for sure in a few months! ; )

I believe it is highly likely that C8 will look as much like the C8.R as the C7 does the C7.R.
