Will Mid Engine Corvette be the only Corvette ??

I hate that fact that you're probably right. I cannot stand SUV's/Trucks, but they are a huge market. Mostly because everyone else has one, so everyone who doesn't feels like they should. There's just no joy whatsoever in piloting a 6' tall monster down the road no matter how luxurious and comfortable it may be. Bad gas mileage, bad handling, high center of gravity, enormous weight, etc. Most people buy them because they like sitting up in the air like that. They are not motoring enthusiasts, they're commuters.

I truly believe the Mid Engine Corvette will be the only Corvette being built for MY 2020. As of now and months before the pre-production C8 ME cars are being built at Bowling Green along with production C7 '19 models. All this makes sense why the '18 MY production was cut short by 6 months, and making the '19 C7 production an extended one.m INMHO MY 2019 will be the last of the C7 including the ZR1!

I have considered purchasing many mid engine sports cars within my price range. I have not because they did not have V8 engines!
The C8 will sell like hotcakes!

Nobody currently employed by GM has said that MY2019 will be the last of the C7. And there is no reason why it should be and a big reason why it should not: the ME Zora is completely unknown and unproven in the market place. Rolling the dice on a car that could fail is too big of a gamble for GM.

V12 - YES - in a heart beat. In my opinion, it is the absolutely best layout. What could possibly be better than 2 straight sixes? Of course, there are cost and size considerations.

HONDA could have mated two CBX motors/internals together for an interesting V12.

I agree ! If they can sell a ME Corvette starting at a base price of ~$65K with a 500 HP engine and a Tremec DCT, AND around 15 cu.ft. of storage space between the frunk and the rear compartment, they will keep Bowling Green humming for years. The C7 is a great car - I love mine and it is the best FE sports car ever made, BUT Corvette lovers have lusted for a ME for decades. This one will be very special and it will sell like hotcakes with blueberries ! It may also capture a lot of Porsche Boxster and Cayman buyers who are looking for something better. The Corvette community needs both a new car and new blood. We're getting too old.

I believe there will only be 1 C8 Corvette ME model, no FE. If some buyers can't get over the new mid engine design, the only (GM) alternative will be called the "Camaro."

This is the reason why the FE is dead and GM can only afford 1 version which will be the ME. I wonder if the days of selling 30k Corvettes per year are over. Sports cars sales are slowing yearly.

GM has never run two different series of corvettes in the past. So all of the sudden they do now? Doubt it.
