Has any new generation Corvette ever lost weight?

Will probably weigh more than the C7 even though they will advertise it as having new technology to make it lighter.

Looks fat probably will be.

The 500 unit run homologation special with no a/c, no entertainment system, carbon fiber racing seats, harnesses and harness bar, fixed roof, thinner glass, door pulls, plus carbon fiber wheels and bodywork will be 3,000 on the nose....

With the big starter-generator and battery for the stop start system, it might come in a bit higher than the C7.

With the carbon fiber tub, all carbon fiber body panels, carbon-ceramic brakes, carbon fiber wheels, keeping it at a 1LT trim level without all the extra weight of the 2LT's subwoofer, heated/cooled seats, HUD, and not adding any of the bolt on aero crap - 3,099 lbs and a base MSRP of $129,995. For the C8 GM will actually build 3,399 lbs and a base price of $69,995.

GM needs to build a very high end Corvette in limited numbers. The words” high end” and” limited numbers” confuse GM, but 500 units at 175K will make lots of money and let GM stretch its design limits beyond the standard Corvette sports car that can be a grocery getter.

500 cars at $175K is $87.5 million GROSS. Since GM doesn't get all $87.5 million or anywhere close to it, I'm curious where you think the money is going to come from to develop such a car?

I'm surprised at how small the breaks are on all the mules we've seen.

The Ferrari 488 weights 3,241. The lightest 911 weighs 3,142. The McLaren 570S weighs 3,186. Look for the C8 to be somewhere betwen 3,300-3,400. Any heavier and its game over, and GM knows this. Personally I would love to see the return of a 3,100 lb. Vette, but I think that will be a track specific car around 2022.

With a mid-rear mounted engine you don't need massive brakes up front to do the same work.

That's what I thought. He is a no good, yellow bellied, double crossing SOB. He should be ashamed of himself.
