Yet another new C8 de-camo render
#22
problem with this rendering is there will be no part of the intake on the doors, move the inlet just forward of the rear wheels

Proposed on the other forum is that there would be two versions, a regular one without the spoiler, and a Z-51 one with the spoiler. And also paralleling the 2014 C7’s, an additional OEM, dealer-installed one.
If there is no second GM option, I will bet first class aftermarket operations like ACS Composite will offer an more aesthetically pleasing alternative for those who would want.
As my plan is to get a year one, then trade it in one a year two or three HP version, and as I am not going to track my ME, if the two versions, “entry” without a spoiler, and Z-51 with one, are again offered, I might well, and for my first time, get an entry version for its IMO better looks.
This ACS Composite rendering gives us a nice visual as to how a small spoiler could look.

Your render moves in an accurate direction...
I started with this image, mostly because it obscures the front and rear of the car, which are the hardest to decipher.
Here’s where I’ve ended up.
This transition shows how I’ve ignored the extra filler inside the scoop and the likelihood that the this transition shows how I’ve ignored the extra filler inside scoop and the likelihood that the width clock more closely resembles the seat eight are depth of the scoop depth and shape of the scoop more closely resembles the C8.R
Hope springs eternal.

2020 C8 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
I really don't know why everyone cheats on the side scoops when they try to do these.

Did you zoom in on the gif? It clearly shows the rooflines match up exactly and I actually lowered the bottom fractionally to cover the camo sticker which slightly protruded. I get what you mean on others renders, though. Some daring souls start from scratch, so the proportions are guessed at and are often wrong. Some skillfully adapt a similar car at a similar angle (like the side view grey one adapted from an Acura NSX). Others prefer to stance their renders and throw larger, more exotic wheel on them. Mine suffers mostly from the original photo being shot with a wide angle lens. GM’s debut photographs will be shot and retouched professionally with a long lens at optimal angles that compliment the sculpture of the car.

There are a lot of decent renders on the Internet. This is my favorite, I’m not sure who did it or if it accurately overlays an actual photo.
I always create mine from actual camo shots of the car, so that the stance and proportions are accurate. As I’ve scoured the internet for new camo shots and other’s renders, this is the best place I’ve found for discussion and analysis of the camo shots. Feedback appreciated. I just realized I failed to watermark my images. Oh well, I’m not a big fan of water marks anyway. They are pretty easy to get rid of anyway.
Nice artwork, but if the car looks like this, it will be pretty awful. The flat surface on top of the front fender is the most effective way to reduce or eliminate lift with the least drag but looks goldamned awful. Looks like it will be a trend like the LeMans cars.
The Evans LMP was the first car flatten the top of the front fender in the early 90s. Faster lap times at the price of good looks. The old adage, form must follow function prevails.

Spitting hairs on roof lines...

Maybe I’m being pedantic but I would strongly disagree with your use of the word “clearly” I think I would concede the word “fractionally” here too. 🙂
Here’s the one over my fireplace,
Uphill or downhill?

Love this render, added my take on the scoops and changed the color for a different look
