So far as I know, the C7 never had a body colored insert in the scoop. It's easy to prove if I am in error, so enlighten me if it does.

Yes, it's an available option. I hate it; based on comments about your "blade" (which IMO is needed though I would have preferred it inside the scoop ala McLaren or something) many on this site like it and might have even ordered it on their C7's.

Love that body colored insert. Nothing better than clean flowing shape--uninterrupted by doodads.

Here is my latest render of the passenger side mirror. I fully give credit to CarScoops.com for the two interior images (all watermarks included) I adapted to lend authenticity to my mirror.

That is absolutely terrific. Like how you started with Carscoop’s picture then surrounded it by adding the “A” pillar, full passenger door frame and door mirror to its “edges.” Very well done! Thanks Chaz.

Although I've never sat in a mid engine car, I do know about current and past models and interior space is tight, some say cramped, This rendering depicts a car with an even tighter compartment. To me having a wall behind ones head appears to add a claustrophobic look to the mix in an already tight space..

No more than the vertical rear window in a C3.

If you are claustrophobic, ME may not be for you. It looks to be about the same as the current C7 convertible, which I find very comfortable. It certainly has more room than my Lotus, which I also felt comfortable in.

I have had several Corvettes, my most recent New Vette was a 15' Z06, I currently own a 488 GTB, the "rear wall" is of no concern to me, it's much more of a Sports Car feel to me than a large open space behind you. I'm excited about an ME Corvette, but still concerned about the Design and First Generation issues. (I have a 68 Corvette, and have had an 01 Z06, a 06 Z06, and 15 Z06, I've had my fill of First Year issues, LOL...)

I loved my C5 Z06s, but I did have a few people comment on how "confined" it felt with the notchback roof. This appears no different to me.

Took the words out of my mouth. I liked the “intimacy” of that window on my 72 Coupe. Also liked the abiility to remove it. However, I will concede the convenience of being able to just throw something into the hatch area.

The cockpit area of the C5 convertibles are the same as the Z06. If the person feels claustrophobic in a Corvette, maybe a Corvette of any stripe isn't the car they should be looking at.

I owned a C3. Loved that car. I think there's a difference between a floor to roof wall with an oversized horizontal & vertical console between driver and passenger and a C3 with a low profile console and a sizable rear hatch big enough to store roof panels. With limited storage hope the passenger seat folds down flat like the C3 to carry taller items.

Needs a quarter window like the 488 IMO. I'm sure I could get used to it, though.

Pretty sure it has one, but is just all concealed to date.

EDIT - Dang this one doesn't have quarter glass from the inside. Maybe it's the vert?

That center console/tunnel, why does it have to be so high? No driveline or gearbox below there in a mid-engine, why isn't the center console lower in height like the 488 has? It would give the cabin a less claustrophobic feel.

That center console looks like an ergonomic mess to me. Cup holders when in use, will be blocking access to the weird "egg"controller! Slanted wall with buttons has no "pass thru" to the passenger side like the C7 does, and looks to add to ones inconvenience! Guess we'll hopefully see how this design was justified sometime soon ...

Chaz, does these shots of a much smaller side scoop cause any concern about their size on your renders?

No, I think they’ve got some ramped up cladding at the opening, Like all that other weird puffed up stuff crammed into this particular mule. I am digging the additional detail in the taillight shot.
