Thats interesting. Makes me think they don't have a mid engine veto available to show? Which also makes me think it won't be released in 2020 then, but its all speculation. At least till the Detroit auto show then either we will see it or have to wait up to possibly another year lol. I can't imagine what these threads are going to be like if its not released by the Detroit show lol. Also the plant tours closed until whatever the announcement date is. Would totally suck to buy a new C7 and not have museum delivery with plant tour part not available.
NYC has become more important both domestically and internationally than DTW and more broadly covered by the press. Moreover, there may have been some slippage in final approval for production decision, and they don't want to get too far in front of that.

Yes, they do have a nearly finished version, which they have been showing to folks well connected to GM with important business relationships. I know one of those people, and he was also told it would be NYC.

I think NYC covers both domestic and international bases, as it has also developed an international following. As much as GM wants to increase it's international presence it also can't betray it's strong US following.

Detroit or NYC... just keep it domestic.

There are no mysteries. Thanks to CF, I now know exactly when the C8 is being introduced, how much it'll cost, what drivetrain it's going to have, and what it looks like.

Maybe a month ago it was announced that the C8 Corvette would be on display at the 2019 Concourse at Amelia Island, Florida. This is a very prestige's event that takes place the first weekend in March. Today, I learned that will not happen, because the reveal had been delayed. It was asked if GM might possibly have a display of the Engine and Chassis, with no body work for their event, that also was a definite "no". We will have to reset our clocks on this one.
