Corvette Museum Bash Info
I was looking on the Museum website and noticed this about the next Bash:
Kickoff of the NCM on site event season – Bash traditionally marks the roll out of the next model year Corvette; the place where you can see them up close and in detail. Bash 2019 will provide enthusiasts the chance to see the new 2020 Corvette up close as well as the getting all the latest information about the all new 7th Generation Corvette. Seminars will feature speakers discussing ‘What’s new in the 2020 model year’, the award-winning body structure, as well as using your 7th generation navigation system. As in past years there will be a large contingent of GM engineers and designers from Warren Tech Center, and the Bowling Green Assembly Plant ready to answer your every question. giving a seminar. Also, back to Bash is our LT5 engine building demonstration by BGAP Bryan Lee & team.
Not sure if the person was in the know or not, but what I get out of it is that the 2020 will be a C7.....or maybe the "new 2020 Corvette" AND "the all new 7th Generation Corvette" will be there. Kinda depends on how you read it. Weird wording for "all new 7th generation", but I figure cut and paste from last year (and the years before). But maybe, just maybe, 2020 will have 2 versions of the vette????

Don't read into it that much... we have no idea what cars GM will be bringing. Our events department copy/pastes the event description from year to year, only changing the year.

Perhaps the release should have a clarification addendum added online? It says what it says; including 2020 MY.

7th Generation Navigation System - this is the headline event? This year is going to be a real snoozer.

"In honor of jpee"
And on the flatbed was the no-camo, final-design, ME C8? Ya-ya-ya. Every person outside could say they scooped the press by X weeks/months. Ya, ya.
And GM and Corvette would be "faithful and recognize" the importance of already-loyal owners who are at The Bash.
Hey! It's a dream, but not something GM couldn't do---they could, if they wanted to create some buzz.....

The fact that the plant will still be closed until after the Bash means no C8 reveal yet to me which means the Bash will be much ado about nothing.

The 2018 event wasn't exactly a must-see thing. 2019 is going to be painful.

It's funny that even the NCM is in the dark. My GUESS is that there are too many unsold C7s at dealers around the country. And, the ME is not even close to being sold to the public. Way too many issues, yet. Good Luck, to the early "gotta haves".

Why do people keep thinking that C7 sales have anything else to do with any of this? Every C7 on a lot is already sold from GM's perspective.

The NCM is not a GM company or property. It's a separate, standalone company. Obviously they have a lot of cooperation and coordination with GM, but they're not part of the corporate structure. So there's no reason to expect that they'd be clued in on top secret goings-on.
