C8 scoop detail hiding in plain sight?

C8 scoop detail hiding in plain sight?
We’ve all seen the paint shop fascia pics, they’ve been out for some time now.
What I didn’t notice until now is that the rear quarter mold also seems to be included behind the rear fascia. Not only that but it looks like somebody actually added some blur/distortion to it, making me think it was an intentional leak. Take a look at the rectangular blur that was added:
The photo was even cropped in such a way to avoid the ever elusive scoop detail, further pointing to an intentional leak (they want us to see what they want us to see). However, if you zoom in to the bottom corner you can faintly see the bottom of what I believe is the scoop. It’s very blurry, but it’s there (you may need to zoom in on another higher-res version of photo to see for yourself, CF compresses the images):
What I see when I look at that is the beginning of the scoop, cove like in appearance, very similar to what BDSVARS has rendered:
Its also consistent to the shape we’ve seen hiding under the camo:
While the picture is blurry, I think this definitely puts to bed the great scoop debate. What do you think?
Update: I did my best with my limited photoshop abilities to try and highlight the beginning of the scoop:

this is the way the fender sits. Even tho there is no "scoop" detail visible, we can see a bit of confirmation of the upper fender crease and down angle as I suspected.
The actual scoop "box" surround will be different than what we are seeing in the camo images and seems to suggest a more refined and sculpted transition. I am working on a new render that could be closer. I Think both Chaz and BDS have many elements of the correct look and thank them for all their effort. !

After looking at the photo of the rear quarter, it seems like every render is missing the intensity of the “flare” over the rear wheel.
the camo definitely hides it well but it appears, after looking at the photo, that there’s a few inches of fender flare.

This was nothing more than a cell phone picture from one buddy to another. If it's blurry, it's because he has an android!

That’s still the rear quarter and I still believe that’s the scoop.
Did he text it it to you? If so, maybe see if he could email you the original. It would be higher resolution as text messages get compressed. We’d get a better look at that part of the scoop.

FENWICK, I think you are correct about it being the ME’s passanger side rear fender section. Note the length defined between the blue arrows. And the same with the blue line sloping down to the right from the fender rear end. IF the ME’s rear fender section is similar to a C7 it could thus be reasoned to be constructed the same way. It looks to me that it does here. It even matches up to where I placed the arrow on the ME’s rear facia. The problem is, the resolution of that fender would need to be enhanced to be definitive. I hope you or someone here on CF can resolve it better.

The bottom rocker area shape matches up very well with the camouflaged cars as well as BDVARS render, which is a true testament and ringing endorsement to the quality of work these guys put in. I hope this new realization will allow them to tweak the renders to get closer to the real deal. Especially the apparent flare around the wheel well.
The back edge of the scoop (leading to the wheel well) also has an angular, almost rectangular shape which is also consistent with what we’re seeing on the camo cars.
I know now it’s hard to see, as zooming in really distorts the already blurry pic, but if you play with the zoom and maybe find a clearer version of the source pic, you can definitely see the end edge of the scoop.

FENWICK: “I’m thoroughly convinced it’s the rear quarter.”
Me too. But the area were you indicate you see the scoop shape is specifically were I think the pic needs greater clarity and enhancement. I took the best resolution I could find to manipulate and this is the best I could do given my limited capabilities. I hope you find the better copy you seek.

That is a good catch, Fenwick. Given how large the area is in front of the wheel well, it’s definitely not the front clip. But there’s just too much reflection/degradation to make any use of it.

If nothing else, you can get a decent idea of the size of the wheel well lip and a somewhat decent idea of the slightly flared fenders.
