Melting Slicks
No one talking about the logo on the steering wheel...?
It's slightly modified c7 logo.. I like it
Not really a fan of the buttons riding up center console divider thing.. if you were sitting passenger seat, it probably feels cramped... Not really ergonomic either. Kind of looks like an afterthought

Regarding price - please refer to the post I made over a month ago, and over 9 times before that, on the original "169k" thread.

9 posts where I explained that there will be THREE variants and the confirmed $169k was most likely for the 2nd variant released shortly after the base model. I already stated 9 times that this price is most likely for the mid-tier GT, but even so, I still believe the base variant will have an entry of $105-115K. The keyword is believe. It's just my speculation that the base will cost low 6 figures ($105-115K) based upon the mid-tiers confirmed $169k price point and other factors. If the GT will cost $169K, what on earth will justify a $100k price hike (based on peoples hopes of the base costing $60-70k). The mid-tier variant will be released much quicker than the z06 was released post stingray reveal. Why? I don't know. Is there a possibility of two corvettes, FE & ME? Sure. Maybe? No? Who knows....
Base: $105-115K (MY SPECULATION)
Mid: $169k (CONFIRMED)
Halo: $250K + (MY SPECULATION)
Does the Base c8 feel like a car worthy of a $105-115k price point? I can tell you, yes, absolutely. Last edited by Zerv02; 12-10-2018 at 10:14 PM.

Thanks CRABBYJ for you showing us that picture, which while not news, address and dispels the fear that the C8’s cockpit is going to feel confining/cramped. Well done!

It's part of what wiped out the Viper. GM's not that dumb.
Take it to the bank. It ain't happening.

It will be interesting to see how other interior colors are represented without looking like too much. Especially black if it doesn’t also have contrasting (silver?) elements.
That’s a lot of red.

Not that my opinion matters, but those seats look like complete garbage. The design is fine. Material can't be the final product. I like the layout tho for sure. Steering wheel does look like it's from a Tahoe, so def not the final product. Looks cheap as all get out. Paddles look cheap. Control stalks look cheap. I think more than half of these pics are NOT the final product, but just a tease. But, what do I know. I have a feeling at $170k, it's gonna be a home run on the inside for sure. And for the record GM. I'd buy at $170k. That would be my high water mark, but for the HALO. Give me close to 800 if not more hp. AWD maybe............DCT. Give me a GTR or Porsche type quick shift, massive torque and HP in an AWD system. It would be game over. Sign me up.

I don't for a moment believe that $170K is anywhere on GM's RADAR for "base model". Not even remotely. GM does some silly things from time to time, for sure. But one thing they always succeed on is properly pricing the Corvette. Corvette has never MSRP'd anywhere near $170K; even for an optioned up ZR1. You can't, as a manufacturer, just suddenly appear in a price bracket with a car like that. Specially not a car like the Corvette that's always been priced much, much less. IF your goal is to reach those lofty MSRP numbers (and that's a big IF), you have to work your way up to it iteratively. You don't just one day decide, "Surprise! We're here in the $170K range!"

"Hey let's double or triple the starting MSRP and go way upscale, AND we can keep selling the old model in case that's too expensive for some folks. Even though we've never had any kind of international presence with the Corvette, maybe we can suddenly start competing with Porsche overseas. Let's go for it . . ."
That is, you don't do that unless corporate insanity has taken hold, but like the government, there are enough checks and balances built into large corporate governance structures to generally keep decisions that insane from coming to fruition.

My thing is the steer wheel...This is obviously custom for the C8 so why can't they add some nicer padding?
The #1 thing you touch every single time you get into the car and its thin and no padding from the pics.
It is the single most infuriating thing about GM in general. They can wrap the dash in the skin of the black spotted last cow in the Italian mountains and then cheap out on something else. The quality of the car has far more to do with the manager who can do a better job of fighting for more money from the budget than the people doing the work.
I'll still buy one and I actually like the interior for no other reason then it is a total departure for Chevy.
I also after seeing the interior do not doubt for a second this was either A, a Cadillac first, and B there will be a Caddy variant and the Cadillac design group lead the interior design.
In fact I don't doubt that may be part of the marketing. We've addressed the interior by letting our top interior design team do the work.
A true GM halo car showing the best of what each group has to offer.

True, those optional wheels on the Portofino are bulky looking. They are a $8100 option, the standard Portofino wheels are a simple 5-spoke design

The interior looks fantastic and the pricing has still not been set, only the tiers. The base is not six figures, period.

The way that interior is built out, I dont think a manual transmission will be offered. Where the existing shift **** is not where one would naturally put a manual transmission shift ****, not to mention there is not enough space for one either. Also that center console is slightly angled, again you cant put a shift **** that high unless its way too short.

Thats true but GM was so cost aware that they choose to reuse the shift paddles for rev matching! Do you think they will have a complete different center console (and the front console to match it) for a manual transmission? Its very unlikely.
