Let's admit it ,it could be announced at a dog fight and everyone will be there that is interested anyway.
Venue doesn't matter, timing does and it will be announced sooner if it's going to make it as a 2020.
They could delay production till Jan and make it a 2021
I don't see why they wouldn't leverage the Internet in a big way, new millennia and all that.

Hmmm. The Bash would not be youtubey (just go with it) enough, i think. Considering what Porsche did with the 911, one would THINK that GM would competent enough to out-do or at lease be on par with the 'competition'... Or, am I expecting too much from the GM behemoth?
