Default Don't think the side scoops are real

So... I know this pic has already been posted before, but this view really makes me believe that the side scoops are 100% glued on for the camo effect, to throw us off, and that they will not actually be part of the door or side of the ME car at all.

How pronounced is yet to be seen by public. But I've heard that the handle or pad is inside that scoop hidden similar to c7 and c7. Which I dont think anyone couldn't have figured out already. But they're real.

Can definitely see them using a hidden door handle/button as well - they've been doing this for some time now... and I absolutely agree there has to be some sort of scoop/hole to feed air into the engine and engine bay.

I am just saying that it appears that what we are seeing on the mules is a fake overly enlarged glued on scoop, and I hope i am right, because I believe it looks very unbalanced from a design perspective.

Only place I've heard that is here.
But I do think there will be a scoop just not sure about the winglet on the door yet.

I can't believe they are doing all these tests and the scoops would be different. These are functional things. You have to test with the real stuff.

What I also can't believe is Chevy could design something that so many think is "ugly". Every photoshop "rendering" I have seen of this car cheats the scoops because they can't believe they really look like that.

I think there will be a "cove" like design which will integrate the scoop. The scoops, I think, will be used for engine and brake cooling, while the "coves" will evoke early Corvettes.Unfortunately I have NO artistic ability, so while I have an idea of how it will look, I have no way to illustrate it. Feel free to help.....

kozmic’s theory may have merit. Most of the latest McLarens have fascinating air management systems that don’t utilize traditional side scoops. Mclaren 720 and Speedtail have relegated “normal” side scoops to the history books.

I agree 100% !!!, ... and I massaged one of Chaz's early renders here, to reflect what I believe and certainly "hope" the side scoop will look like. I just see no reason for the designers to have this bulging scoop with inconsistent character lines drawn through the middle, that in no way sync with the rest of the cars design flow !

^^^ You may want to go back to massage school because that rear quarter panel now looks like it don't belong. Almost lools like two different cars joined at the scoop.

Well, ...maybe so, but I'll bet you here and TODAY, ... that the blistered scoop design is NOT what the new car will be wearing when it's finally revealed! We've become used to seeing it, and Chaz sure does make it look good, ... but it's not what's under the camo, IMO.

Knowing GM, I can see them tacking on a part on the door for the dramatic effect, even if not needed. Recall: Pontiac.

Don't know...we'll see when it gets revealed.

When you blow up Kozmic’s blue circle around the scoop, it does appear that the scoop may be an add on. It appears rounded where it attached to a flatter door panel, but as thirtythird says, “we’ll see when it gets revealed.”

I kind of hope it’s an add on and not nearly as pronounced as what we’ve seen.

That blue circle that he drew on the door is indeed a prop, necessary to keep the vinyl bra material open so air can ienter the scoop. There's clearly nothing attached to the doors on all the naked mules that are running around. I thought we were talking about the scoop itself, ... not the crap from many months ago that was under all the vinyl camo at that time ...

I was posting about everything in the blue 'circle' (if you can call it that....lol). I am beginning to believe that we will see none of that stuff on the door, based on this view of the door.

Curious...hmm.... Reminds me...the front scoop on the C6 Z06 was (is)....well....dare I say not functional?

Look at that front view into the scoop. These pics are ALL ...doctored up! I dabble in a little photoshop some times, and I can tell you that view into the scoop was blacked out by someone to obscure the view at what's inside.

The entire rear quarter including the scoop under the camp has to be fake.
