Anyone else losing interest because of the wait?
Since I wasn't a fan of the C7 I started considering a R8, Gallardo and 911 but put those plans on hold when the ME rumors began. It's now been a couple years and all we have is cars running around in camo, not even confirmation from GM that the car exists let alone an unveiling or launch date. Spring is around the corner and as much as I love my C6 I've had it for 13 years (longest ever) I have a need for change and its looking like it may not end up being another corvette. Anyone else going through the same decision process.

Some people are patient; some are not. It's a personal issue.

I cant say I'm in a real hurry, I have a great time with my C5 and the C6-7 just dont do it for me. Having time is good but I have lost interest. I look in daily to scan for new info, otherwise I just focus on other things. This is a fav time of the year for me with F1, MotoGP and Cycling getting into full swing.

Sadly, if the C8 is going to be just as cramped as the C7 or worse, i probably will pass any way.

Well, I must admit to a little frustration, but I've seen enough and know enough to say, definitively, that this is a car worth waiting for. Not going to buy something else instead of the C8. I will enjoy driving the cars I have and look forward to the inevitable release of this revolutionary Corvette.

I just picked up my 19 GS this last summer, so I was planning on waiting for a couple years anyway. I don't mind spending another summer in the latest configuration of the Corvette, but will agree that it is starting to seem like the C8 has "been around" for a few years.
As a musician, it reminds me of writing a new album of music. By the time the public hears the new album, the band is already tired of hearing and playing it.

There was a rumor recently production won't start until December....meaning cars won't arrive until early Spring next year.
If I was jonesing for a new Sportscar I wouldn't wait and would go with something else, something known and available.
Nice one.
It really does.

I have had my NSX for 2 years now and I don't regret it at all.
The C8 is gonna have to be something special for me to consider it.

I'm starting to feel an interest gap developing while waiting for some official news on this car. I'm still willing to wait, and probably wouldn't buy a first-year model anyway. However, it seems like the conversation around the alleged C8 has been going on too long, and is now already just old news repeated over and over. Some of the excitement has left the house. Hope I'm wrong.
In the meantime, I'm looking at other cars to see what might fill that gap.

I am somwhere between INTEREST and WGAF.
The waiting is getting tiring but may be worth it. Time will tell.
Between now and then, I am interested.....but WGAF.

If threads like this keep popping up GM is going to do another controlled leak... just when you think you're out you're back in.

Some stuff to consider:
I doubt very seriously if the first C8 introduced comes close to being a record setter, but it better have killer looks.
IMO will be a V6 to try to hit the $70k "introduction to Corvette" buyers.
IMO a V8 will be introduced below $115k but not by much.
IMO a TT V8 "record setter" will be in limited #'s and be close to $190k, and it won't be out until 2021 (late), might be AWD.
If the economy tanks, the whole program may be cancelled or the Corvette division sold off.
GM owes nothing to the ME crowd.
If the C8 does finally come out, DIY is probably going to be near impossible (you will need a lift).

I am in the same boat, I've had a C7 since 2013 and am ready for something new. I would like it to be a C8, but I am getting tired of the silence.

Corvette is not going to release or acknowledge the C8 until it is ready. Premature release with an unreliable product would be a disaster. A premature announcement would be damaging to sales. There may be a few who are tracking the Corvette C8 who will lose interest, but in the scheme of things that's a very, very small group. When the car finally is announced it will rock the automotive world just like almost all of the other Corvette launches have. I would venture a guess that many of those who lost interest will forget the period of time it took to bring the C8 to fruition and wind up at a dealership just like those who are still interested.
It's Corvette, it's a magnet.

Maybe if we all say yes we are losing interest they will start to release some teasers...
I think from a marketing standpoint, if the car is going to be revealed in under a year, they should start an online countdown teaser just to start to build anticipation and excitement.
Of course, if they don’t know exactly when they will be releasing it because they don’t know when it will be ready, it becomes a problem

IMO, when people “ know” what’s coming they can choose to wait or not. But when they “think” they may use something better they end to wait simply because they don’t know how long they may need to wait and time rolls by.
Maybe be a year or even two years ago, the C7 inventory would have moved simply knowing they would have to wait 3-4 years for a c8.
Just a thought.

And as an enthusiast, if I feel something more suitable comes along, I’ll see if I can realize a different goal.
It’s my entertainment/discretionary money so, selfishly, I prioritize what I want...as long as it doesn’t compromise other more important priorities/needs for my family and myself.
