My idea of golf is nailing a golf ball from 300 yards with my home built .308....which i have done. If the C8 cant fit a couple of sporting rifles and a Glock or three I will just take my jeep or ZR2 Colorado...I'm getting a C8 even if its storage capacity can only hold pack of gum.

The point is, two golf bag both represents something that many Corvette owners do, and gives a very easy to visualize representation of space to those who do not. It is a very easy label to slap on a car and tell people that it fits two bags, and they immediately know that there is likely enough room for all their daily driving and weekend trip needs, regardless if you actually play golf or not.

People get so hung up on the fact that they use golf bags as a measurement when that measurement is more useful in many ways than just listing the volume of the space. Saying that a golf bag will fit gives you a good visual representation of the size, and it also tells you that the car has at least that much storage space in one single area and that it is not in a strange shape. I have a car that technically has a reasonable amount of storage space, but what the numbers don't show is that the storage space is split between two areas and that makes it hard to fit anything in.

Jeezus, open the right side door and stick your damn golf bag there if a Corvette is the only car you own. Seriously, how hard is that? If that doesn't work then take up tennis, mixed martial arts, or something else that constitutes actual exercise and the expenditure of calories. I played that stupid game for 10 years and it ain't worth it. There are many other ways to get away from the old lady. Honestly, how many Corvette owners need to put 2 golf bags in a high performance sports car. This is a non issue and if it is a deal breaker for the hard core golfers then so be it, they go golfing in another car or buy another car.

And if this is supposed to only be a high performance sports car, not something usable on a daily basis, why does it have three comfort trim levels?

This makes me happy! If it can hold two golf bags that means it will have a well sized useable space for many things such as two carry on suit cases, any sports equipment that requires a stick to hit things (baseball, hockey, golf, cricket, ect), groceries, a full sized computer tower, and a third passenger of healthy size.

I played that stupid game for 10 years and never once put a golf bag in any Corvette that I owned during that time.

I certainly hope the ridiculous "2 golf bag" requirement is not a factor which will compromise the aesthetics of the C8, that would really be a shame. How many sports cars carry two full size golf bags? Get a CTS-V if you can't live without a "2 golf bag" performance car.
The guys here who are barking about the increasing popularity of golf should simply Google " the decline of golf". There are literally millions of sites which present and explain this fact and why it is occurring. This is not a recent phenomenon, it is a trend that is steady and has been ongoing for over ten years.

I put a lawnmower in the back of my C4 a couple of times in a pinch, with the handle sticking out the open rear hatch.
I'm not sure I'll be able to see very well with the "frunk" of the C8 open.

Back when my C5 z06 was a street car in the spring the trunk would be filled with both my snowboard and large gear bag, boots etc. and my skateboard and skate gear. It was great to be able to blast up Parleys to Park City get some some runs in the pipe and then get a session at the skatepark on the way home. So for people like me that use their sports car like I do having some capacity is nice. But even that said I wouldn't want the ME to have a big compromised to accommodate that. If they have came with a clever way to get the storage that would be a bonus. My 911 turbo kinda failed at the same tasks. Strapping a snowboard down to the GT3 wing caused to much drag

I don't golf but my mid engined car has enough room behind the seats to fit a set of clubs behind the seats. So the Vette might be accomidating clubs in the same way.
This area in my car is 46" wide I just measured it out of curiosity.

Won’t be in a he frunk, likely same as boxster they’ll fit in the trunk.
I play golf and in 15 years of Z06 ownership the vette been to the course maybe 2 times. Much easier to throw couple of sets of clubs in the back of an SUV or Sedan.
I don’t understand these folks who feel that they need to drag their clubs a couple of miles in the vette...no one cares!

Yes, golf bag storage is necessary for the Corvette to maintain its reputation as a premier retiree's vehicle. Also on the feature list is an extra large compartment for storing early bird special restaurant coupons.
