Default Wow...

That "I just ordered/configured my new 2020 ME C8" thread disappeared fast...

I would say this lends at least a little credibility to the claim (the screenshots - not the "ordered" part)...actually... for it at least being something that big brother GM does not want shown yet...that dealer might get some shade thrown at them by GM soon...

Soo...the take away is that GM does watch the forum and very quickly sent a takedown notice?

I missed it so I don't know what it was. But if the person was taking screen shots from GM Global Connect and sharing them publicly, that's a major violation of the dealer's franchise agreement. Also, dealer's are not supposed to share any information they know that is not available to the public. If GM ever has some kind of an advisory board, the dealers on that board sign separate NDAs, but all dealer franchise agreements have sections about making disclosing non-public information.

Wasn't the dealer sharing, but someone who claimed to have visited a dealer, configured a 2020 car, and posted screen shots of the dealer's build option screens (and the final build for the car) - not sure how the OP was able to grab the shots, but can totally understand GM's perspective on privacy. If they were indeed valid screen shots, there was a couple if interesting option lines that confirm some suspicions here on CF, but I will not share here publicly, what I remember from the posted shots, respecting the above statement.

If there were screen shots, either it was a dealership employee or the employee took screen shots and gave them to the customer. Either way, it would be a violation and that order shows the dealer codes so GM would know who it was. It may have been GM or it may have been the dealer asking the OP to take it down.

Who was the OP? Was he a new member or has he been here a while? He can tell us if he was asked to take it down or not.

Common sense for GM isn't so common?
It's not a common sense thing, it was human error. Someone at GM is probably working on the database for orders and basically saved it to live rather than save as a draft.

Default I saw the post before it was deleted

I didn’t take screen shots and figured it was fake... now I know I was wrong had all the paint colors listed one was called _______ bronze. Can’t remember the first word but don’t think it was metallic. Also mentioned seats that were called GT2 at the end, it was early morning that’s all I remember and a 12 inch configurable screen I think that would be where speedo is

Tried to dig the cache files of the thread out of the google storage.

Someone must be more competent than I at doing that because I was unsuccessful.

It showed a front lift kit, video display mirrors and the color was called Zeus Bronze. Seat choices were comp or GT2. It also showed two rear axle ratios, 3.62 or 3.80, which I find very odd. There was a typo in tire sizes too which at made it look more fake... but if I remember the original ZR1 order guide had tons of typos, so that doesn't necessary mean it's fake I guess.
